Who we are:

Elte is Toronto's source for considered design for all things home. For over 100 years, our family has worked with designers and craftspeople from idea to object, curating timeless pieces and the most distinct creations. Our sister brand, Mkt, is an independent design house creating pieces for a modern, edited home. We have three large showrooms within Toronto's Design District. In the Elte Showroom, you'll find Rugs and Carpeting, Furniture, Lighting, Mattresses, Linens and Home Decor.


What we are looking for:

The HR & Engagement Coordinator is a motivated, highly organized, outstanding communicator with the ability to multitask and transform vision into action plans. This role works collaboratively with internal and external parties and has a passion for driving culture-centric initiatives and programs. This role will serve as the “go-to” person for several aspects of HR and the team member experience, including, Employee Culture & Engagement activities, Onboarding, Health and Safety, HR Administration, Special Projects and Recruitment in addition to providing some administrative support to the Senior Management team.


What you do (among other things):

· Organize, coordinate and execute employee engagement events and activities

· Meet with new hires for HR orientations

· Responsible for coordinating Health & Safety requirements including safety training & injury reporting

· Accurately maintain and update team member information and files in our HRIS

· Special projects as assigned by the Director, HR

· Support recruitment for selected teams including posting job ads, phone screening & reference checks

· Co-ordinate and analyze team engagement pulse surveys

· Provide administrative support to senior management as needed

· Maintain positive and professional relationships both internally and externally


QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES:

· 1+ years’ experience in an HR role & knowledge of HR best practices

· Post-secondary diploma in Human Resources Management or related field

  • Experience planning and executing events/programs is an asset

· Excellent social and communication skills

  • Strong time management, highly organized and cares about the detail
  • Passionate about people and a positive work culture
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize when things pivot
  • Ability to handle situations and data with confidentiality and integrity
  • Empathetic, approachable and works well collaboratively
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Microsoft Excel
  • High comfort level with technology and learning new programs
