Are you a CPA with strong manufacturing experience with a passion for being a reliable finance business partner and mentoring staff? Our client is a well-respected and very successful private company. They pride themselves on treating their employees like family and as a result, can boast long tenure and an engaged workforce. They have a strong presence in the Golden Horseshoe and are always growing through acquisitions and new product development. Due to steady growth, they are establishing a new position of Group Controller. Please note this role is 100% onsite.
The Role
In this exciting role, as the Group Controller, you will oversee the Accounting and Finance function of several manufacturing companies within the Manufacturing Group portfolio. The respective Plant Controllers take care of the day-to-day Accounting functions, but you will oversee the strategic direction, manage daily cash flow reporting and offer business direction to the Group President. However, this is not a “hands-off” role. You will apply your strong manufacturing background and costing knowledge to help improve processes and analyze product costing. You will manage cash flow for the Group President and Group CFO. You will also present monthly financial results to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
About You
You are a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with 10+ years of hands-on manufacturing industry experience. You have gained strong knowledge of standard costing and can provide informative variance analysis to the Group President and the ELT, as well as design effective cost accounting systems. You will ensure processes across the Group are consistent with other companies across the organization and that internal controls are in place. You can see the big picture and provide guidance to the Plant Controllers and their staff, yet you are not above rolling up your sleeves and diving deep into the details to solve problems. In addition to reporting on the monthly financial results, you will be involved in developing plans, budgets and forecasts for the companies under your responsibility. To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must have strong ERP experience.

• Oversee standard costing processes and methodology
• Finance business partner for the Group President
• CPA designation
• Mentor accounting staff within the Group
• 10+ years of accounting experience
• Previous manufacturing industry experience
• Oversee accounting processes for companies within the Manufacturing Group
• Assist Group CFO with budgeting and forecasting
• Cash management and forecasting for all companies within the Group
• Perform financial analysis on new product offerings
