Document Controller Jobs

This position will support various on-going projects and work closely with the engineering team. The Document Controller will serve as a gate-keeper of official project information, ensuring accurate record keeping, file organization and detailed documentation.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining drawing files, archives and electronic files in project databases.
• Training the project team on internal and external document control requirements.
• Interacting with clients and engineering groups to set up document control systems on projects.
• Receiving, logging, tracking and monitoring engineering and supplier drawings and documentation.
• Preparing transmittals.
• Compiling documentation lists as requested by project managers.
• Recommending methods and techniques for improving quality, productivity and deadline adherence.
• Completing project work to deadlines and appropriate standards.
• Fulfilling requests for drawings and documentation.
• Performing other duties as requested.
• Performingquality assurancefor all outgoing and incoming controlled documentation.
• Handling, distributing and completing incoming communications including electronic transmittals.
• Liaising with vendors and managing the documentation flow between vendors, engineers, and clients.
• Setting up document control files for both engineering and supplier documents.
• Coordinating supplier and engineering drawings routings.
• Issuing and distributing controlled documents according to the distribution matrix.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would be an organized individual with an attention to detail. Experience with various Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel and Sharepoint and excellent written and oral communication skills will be essential.A technical background in engineering or construction would be considered an asset. Candidate must be local to Thunder Bay.
