Job Summary:

Our client, a leading Financial and Insurance Services firm, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Manufacturing Controller to join their team in Bowmanville, ON. As a Manufacturing Controller, you will play a pivotal role in working closely with the Operations, Sales, and Business Analytics teams to optimize profitability, manage costs, and ensure efficient manufacturing processes. Detailed :

As a Manufacturing Controller, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Assisting in reviewing and analyzing Capital spending requests.
• Engaging in bi-weekly meetings with the Business Analytics (BA) Team to work on process improvement initiatives.
• Calculating and monitoring profitability per Product Line and product class, with the goal of enhancing performance down to the SKU level.
• Collaborating with Sales and Operations teams to develop annual plant operating budgets and forecasts.
• Playing a core role in the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process for assigned locations.
• Providing external/internal audit support for assigned locations.
• Reviewing and analyzing data to identify actual manufacturing results compared to established objectives.
• Overseeing the monthly closing process for manufacturing locations, including reconciling Sales Detail to Revenue & COGS Accounts, analyzing Plant Expenses, Labor & Overhead Absorption, and Balance Sheet.
• Occasionally traveling to facilities to work with operations personnel and understanding site-specific manufacturing processes.
• Collaborating with the Operations team to ensure accurate BOM costs.
• Managing and maintaining fixed asset inventory, including uploading information into the ERP platform and conducting annual fixed asset audits.
• Providing day-to-day financial and operational support for assigned plants.
• Executing a pre-built cycle count program to eliminate monthly physical count variances and reduce slow-moving/obsolete write-offs while maintaining inventory count statistics.
• Supporting the development and tracking of cost-saving opportunities and monitoring progress of current initiatives.

Candidate's Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and experience with LN ERP is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role, with at least 3 years as a Cost Accountant or Plant Controller in manufacturing.
• Excellent multitasking and problem-solving abilities.
• A Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance is required.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple levels of the organization and foster teamwork between departments.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment and managing a high workload.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
• Manufacturing experience in metal fabrication and/or appliances would be advantageous but not essential.
• Proficiency in analyzing and measuring specific parts of the P&L and offering improvements to senior leadership.
• Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
