What will you be doing?

• Review and/or prepare working papers and schedules at year-end for external auditors; Review yearly financials and corporate tax returns.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements for the company along with Operations Accountant and Junior Accountant.
• Prepare monthly bank margin reports and quarterly bank covenant calculation
• Oversee Accounts Payable Management and function and work with AP team to ensure timely vendor payments, manage employee expense reports/payments, AP reconciliation, accruals, and assisting with general AP-related tasks.
• Review general ledger entries for accuracy and ensure they are processed in a timely manner.
• Daily operations of the Finance Department, including monthly and yearly reporting, as well as various special projects.
• Ensure internal controls are followed and provide recommendations for any improvements.
• Treasury/Cash flow: Manage and maintain cash flow.
• Maintain trial balance and chart of accounts, especially Balance Sheet accounts for all our companies.
• Assist with preparation of monthly consolidated statements, review monthly bank reconciliations, and ensure governmental compliance.
• Taking initiative in building, streamlining, and assisting in month-end processes
• Train and mentor junior members of accounting team
• Oversee budget meetings with SG&A business managers on a quarterly basis.

What do you bring to this role?

• CPA designation or close to completion
• Critical thinker with a strong ability to troubleshoot when problems arise
• AP experience, PO's and 3-way matching (PO, Receipt, invoice) beneficial.
• 4-5 years' previous experience in a similar role
• Embrace change & growth, and initiate continuous improvements
• Be a great teammate, have fun & build strong relationships with internal & external customers
• Experience with multi-branch, currency & entity company structure
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
• Strong communicator, both written and verbal
• Consolidations experience would be an asset.
• Advance operations of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Formulas)
• Leadership or mentorship experience is an asset.
