Experienced Safety Attendant

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Perform on-site safety watch, confined space entry watch and atmospheric testing, spark/fire watch, and gas detection.
• Rig in / rig out breathing air trailer as per Total Safety’s Safe Work Procedures.
• Champion the company’s safety culture and safe work practices.
• Follow and be an advocate for all rules, policies and procedures as per the client’s health and safety program, company HSE program, and all other applicable legislation.
• Intervene in unsafe acts and unsafe conditions and take appropriate action to influence safe behaviors and to create a safe working environment.
• Provide support to ensure that all on-site personnel work in a safe manner and comply with company and regulatory/legislative requirements for Occupational Health & Safety.
• Operate breathing air trailer as per Total Safety’s Safe Work Procedures and supply breathing air to workers in hazardous environments.

Required Skills & Abilities

• Strong observational and listening skills
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills
• Verbal and written proficiency in English

Qualifications

• Previous field safety or related experience is considered an asset;
• Must be capable of working with limited supervision and able to exercise initiative and sound judgement.
• Confined Space Rescue or High Angle Rescue certification are considered an asset;
• Must havethe following safety tickets (or willing to obtain): H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, Confined Space Entry/Monitor and Common Safety Orientation (CSO); Fall Protection
• Willing to work outdoors, work an irregular schedule (including nightshifts and weekends), and travel to various client sites;
• Must be 18+ years old;
• Must hold a valid Driver's License and a clean Driver's Abstract;
