Plains is seeking a Trucking Dispatcher to support our Commercial Trucking Department. While reporting to the Manager of Crude Commercial Logistics, the successful candidate will be responsible for effective communication with the Plains Truck Transportation operations team, internal/external customers and the fleet of Contracted operators. This is a fast paced, deadline driven role that requires superb organizational and communication skills, along with the ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities:

• Building and managing respectful and productive relationships with drivers and field operations
• Serving as the primary point of contact for internal and third-party truck drivers
• Quickly and accurately action information received from multiple sources
• Focus on transportation efficiency by proactively planning cost-effective routing and driver time management
• Make informed decisions using our technology platforms and other fleet management software
• Effective utilization of trucking resources while planning and dispatching oil production within the assigned territory
• Monitoring customer oil production using dispatch and planning tools to ratably supply pipeline network through Western Canada
• Working collaboratively at all levels of the organization as a member of Plains Midstream Canada high-performing logistics team
• Responsible for the accurate approval of internal and third-party trucking tickets

Qualifications:

• Proven ability to balance multiple priorities and plan effectively
• Proactive individuals able to work without immediate day-to-day supervision who can hold themselves accountable for their actions and for producing expected results
• Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions responding effectively to challenges, often under stress and with limited information
• Highly developed communication, organization, and critical thinking skills
• Advanced computer proficiency required, candidates with experience in digital dispatching systems as well as MS Excel, is an asset.
• Previous experience in oilfield dispatching is considered an asset
• 3-5 years in logistics and transportation or a combination of transferable skills and experience
• Cleared criminal history (background) check and satisfactory reference checks
• Ability to remain focused and positive under stressful conditions
