Project Details


  • Shift: Monday to Friday, 10 hours per day. Additional hours will be required during peak construction and tunnelling.
  • Start Date: June 19, 2023
  • Location: Edmonton, AB
  • Duration: 2 years or until construction is completed


Your Opportunity with Michels Canada


Michels Canada is a union contractor primarily seeking experienced and qualified members from across Canada, but all qualified applications are being considered.


Your Key Responsibilities


  • Safely load, unload, and handle materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Must be comfortable working in various weather conditions.
  • Contribute to carpentry and concrete form work, to assist with tunnel structure installation.
  • Effectively utilize hand tools such as impact guns, drills, etc. for various construction tasks
  • Perform tasks in deep shafts and confined spaces while adhering to strict safety protocols.
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Responsible for working as part of the Bull Gang Tunnel crew to support tunnel construction.


Your Capabilities And Credentials


  • Must have proficient written and spoken English.
  • Experience with manhole structures is preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to be insured to drive a company vehicle.
  • Previous experience with tunneling sewer or wastewater construction is preferred.
  • Must be able to work in shaft 6.5 meters in diameter and 20+ meters below grade.
  • Employment conditional on successful completion of required safety training and site access requirements.
  • First Aid is an asset but not required.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in an urban construction environment.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.
