Maintenance Labourer Jobs

What You Will Do

Under general direction, performs industrial cleaning, landscaping, snow removal and support general maintenance of a large active industrial building. Provide customer service as required to the building users.

How You Will Do It

• Support HVAC equipment maintenance including filter changing; belt changing; cleaning; monitoring and perform minor repairs
• Provide general handyman services throughout the facility as required.
• All mechanical maintenance duties with equipment used for tasks
• Perform shift tours and log readings
• Upkeep by cleaning and inspections of industrial equipment to ensure they are running smoothly and reliable.
• Complete work orders and reporting documentation accurately and in a timely manner
• General facility maintenance and upkeep activities at the direction of the senior operators and Customer Business Manager
• Snow removal by the use of the Skid Steer, snow removal equipment and manually.
• Respond to all relevant Emergencies and participate in all urgent rectification events
• Use of industrial floor scrubber cleaning of industrial areas.
• Ensure work is completed safely and proper Policy / Procedures are followed
• Respond to service events as per site SOP’s
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Perform routine checks of buildings and grounds.
• Operation of Skid Steer to move material as required. Emptying of waste bins.
• Housekeeping and general upkeep

What We Look For

• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times with fellow employees and the customer.
• High school diploma or equivalent, experience in landscaping, facility maintenance or construction preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills required in English
• Able to maintain clear and courteous two-way radio and/or mobile phone etiquette.
• Capable of independently following instructions both written and verbal.
• Able to accomplish all duties and tasks as assigned.
• May be required to use a variety of hand and power tools.
• General mechanical knowledge is an asset
• Effective liaison with Contractors on site, or those required to be called-in, to return equipment to service and/or ensure an emergency repair
• Compliance with all company policies and procedures and adherence to company health and safety standards.
• Training will be provided for the Scrubber and Skid Steer, but prior experience is an asset
• A team player, committed to working in a quality environment.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work on ladder or scaffold at various heights.
• Bending and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs required
• Lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
