What you will be doing
The Facilities Manager is responsible to maintain the infrastructure (buildings, utilities, process equipment, etc…) of the RBM Canada site, with focus on reliability, cost efficiency, safety and product quality and to assist in building and extension of local site installations according to engineering guidelines.
- Analyze maintenance costs and equipment reliability and ensure an optimal balance between preventive, corrective maintenance and investment projects
- Lead and develop the QMS, EMS and SMS of maintenance department in compliance with TS16949, ISO 9001/14001, OSHAS18001 and assure that quality issues related to UMK/UMaK equipment are quickly and effectively assessed. Promote the use of six sigma tools for improvement projects.
- Optimally organize the work in the asset management department, making clear job descriptions and training plans and coaching the maintenance coordinator, engineering manager, QEHS coordinator and construction coordinator
- As “asset management” process owner, this role is responsible for the proper running of the process, analyzing the risks in the process, and ensuring the intended results. In the case of results below assumptions and a negative trend, the process owner is responsible for re-analyzing the risk and implementing corrective actions.
- Define the yearly equipment investment (CAPEX) budget and maintenance (OPEX) budget in close cooperation with the different department managers and global CoEs, closely follow up the timely execution of all projects and resolve long term equipment investment and maintenance strategy.
- Support, deploy and assess all EHS policies, including contractor safety policy, energy saving plan and dust reduction plan and assure full compliance with legal and Umicore EHS regulations
Who we are looking for
Functional Requirements
- Good communicator, strong interpersonal skills, promoter of cross-department cooperation
- 10 years' experience in maintenance and/or engineering
- Knowledge of reliability engineering
- Ability to organize and coach his/her team and to organize project teams
- Ability to convince without formal authority
- Knowledge and understanding of mechanical and electrical maintenance and engineering
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of statistical tools (6 sigma).
- Understanding of ISO9001 and IATF16949 to lead the assigned process
- Master or Bachelor degree
- Understanding of Engineering tools (CAD, HMI systems, PLC programming)
- Able to change attitudes and to create acceptance to change
- Ability to phrase concepts in a structured and clear manner
- Computer skills: maintenance scheduling software, office software (Excel, Access and Word), advanced digital tools (PowerBI).
