Role summary
The Anglican Diocese of Ottawa (ADO) is seeking a Digital Communications & Events Coordinator to support the Diocese and its various outreach programs. As a member of the Communications and Development team, you will leverage your experience and skills to elevate the ADO profile, broaden its audiences, and drive engagement through effective digital activities. As our Digital Communications & Events Coordinator, you will be our digital wizard, bringing innovation to our communications and events. You will transform our digital presence, manage our websites, and ignite our social media platforms. You will also play a crucial role in enhancing donor relations and fundraising activities.
Reporting to the Director of Communications and Development, you will be part of a team that's striving to engage our audiences in new ways, while boosting the ADO's reputation and brand. You'll collaborate with various teams and partners to drive our digital marketing and social media strategies, aiming to strengthen donor relations, and ensure our mission is sustained today and into the future.
Digital Communication & Social Media:
- Monitor and evaluate social media presence and performance using analytical tools like Google Analytics and Facebook Insights.
- Source and distribute relevant content that aligns with ADO’s strategic priorities and strengthens our media relations,coordinate responses to social media inquiries, messages, and comments.
- Craft social media copy that aligns with ADO's brand voice and demonstrates a strong understanding of our organizational values.
- Develop and manage strategies, campaigns, and content calendars that leverage ADO’s social media channels to grow awareness and engagement.
Website Management:
- Collaborate to support ADO digital communications publishing, coordinating and increasing ad sales
- Responsible for the management, maintenance, and content of ADO websites, optimizing for SEO and coordinating staff and volunteers' training as needed.
Outreach & Engagement:
- Develop and distribute communication and outreach emails and materials, as well as internal/external communications for digital events.
- Assist in devising strategies for planned giving and development, augmenting media outreach activities.
Events & Meetings:
- Coordinate logistics for events and meetings, including technical support and webinar promotions.
- Contribute to ADO annual events and initiatives, providing digital access to meeting materials and conducting post-event analysis.
Your Skills & Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in communication, digital marketing, content creation, or a related field.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Promotions, Business Administration, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading and editing.
- Experience with event planning and coordination, from conceptualization to execution.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Canva, Raisers Edge, and WordPress.
- Demonstrable skills in social media platforms, Google Analytics, and social media analytics tools.
- Excellent organizational skills, time management, and ability to interact with multiple stakeholders.
- Video / podcast production, and / or photography skills are considered strong assets
- An understanding and alignment with the values and visions of the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa.
