Job Description

Working with one of the top financial clients this role calls for a Communications Specialist (HR) who will be responsible for providing communications advice and guidance to assigned businesses/groups, on communication principles/programs/approaches, effective ways to communicate and on implementation of solutions. The successful candidate will leads and participates in defining communication plans designed to positively influence or change behaviour; develops tailored messaging; identifies appropriate distribution channels.

Responsibilities:

  • Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.
  • Develops change strategy that enables leaders to promote change and execute the change; ensures stakeholders want to make the change.
  • Collaborates with internal/external stakeholders to provide business context in the design, development, and implementation of change. Ensures alignment between stakeholders.
  • Identifies resistance to the change and builds required plans to overcome objectives through communications and training to implement and sustain the change.
  • Monitors and tracks the adoption of the change and addresses any issues. Implements any corrective actions required and celebrates successes.
  • Proactively collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to provide business context in the design, development, and implementation of communication solutions.
  • Builds and executes communications plans to drive awareness and understanding, including analyzing audiences, developing key messages, and identifying the right channel, frequency, and sender.
  • Coordinates, distributes and publishes communication solutions.
  • Develops change management solutions and makes recommendations based on an understanding of the business strategy and stakeholder needs.
  • Provides advice and guidance to assigned business/group on the implementation of change; evaluates the changing environment to understand the complexity and impact of change to develop a program that meets required objectives.
  • Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
  • Reviews material to ensure it complies with relevant quality standards, including translation requirements.

Desired Skill Set:

  • Sound understanding of Change management
  • 3-5 years of experience in Communication and Execution
  • Solid background in Marketing, Advertising, and Communications
  • Strong Influence, collaboration and team skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exposure to Project Work with an understanding of cycle times
  • Post-Secondary Education
  • References to doing project work, specifically within the realm of HR
  • Experience with writing content
  • Experience in building job aids
  • Working within a communications team in an organization/ change management on a project
