About The Role
- Prepare and review month end and year end trial balances within deadlines.
- Provide support for the Operating Group Controller when required.
- Help drive and implement efficiencies across the Operating Group
- Manage various improvement projects and system implementations.
- Handle all facets of the annual audit (planning, preparation, answering queries, etc.)
- Identifying potential process improvements available as result of a more robust ERP
- Contribute, participate and act as a resource for the Operating Group Finance Team as a whole.
- Drive the budgeting and forecasting process.
- Maintain various financial workbooks and schedules, ensuring accuracy & consistency throughout.
- Identify and action opportunities for improved reporting, processes, policies, etc.
- Other ad-hoc items may be assigned from time to time.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports to support management decision-making.
- Prepare and review various management reports.
- ERP maintenance and management once fully implemented.
- Develop, implement, review and document processes to ensure they comply with standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
- Participate in the implementation of a new ERP (SAP Business One), including:
- Working alongside ERP implementation team to ensure a smooth transition.
Required Experience
- Related experience 5-10 years in an accounting environment
- Experience working in organizations of various sizes including large to mid-size organizations.
- Experience in public practice with a large or mid-sized firm is an asset.
- Experience working with SAP is an asset.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with CPA designation or an international designation of a similar nature
- Bilingual French and English
- ERP experience and an understanding of IT infrastructure
