With a diverse and distributed global staff, and offices in Canada and Australia, we are now growing our extraordinary team, and currently seeking aBookkeeper & Payroll Administrator to work (mostly) remotely with our accounting and finance team in Vancouver, BC.
Working in a high paced, professional environment, theBookkeeper & Payroll Adminwill assist with administration of both accounting and payroll responsibilities within a small (but mighty) biofuel start up headquartered in Vancouver, BC.

Who you are and what you’ll do:
- You are that magical hybrid who brings strong people and communication skills, as well as a passion for working with numbers.
- Able to perform payroll accounting functions, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Strong collaboration skills as you work along HR while processing payroll.
- You have no problem accurately recording entries and transactions.
- Eagerness to support ad hoc tasks and projects as required.
- You not only support diversity and inclusion, but actively mirror it in your daily activities.
- Able to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and pivot quickly when required.
- You have confidence using new software platforms, and ideally some experience using JD Edwards and/or PayWorks.
- You are a pro at using Microsoft Excel.
- Helpful if you bring confidentexperience using the Microsoft 365 platform.
- Monitoring purchase orders and accounts payable; making wire payments as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with any payroll issues related to the CRA, Employment Standards, WorkSafe BC, etc.
- A natural, solutions-oriented problem solver, you think both strategically and tactically.
- Customer service orientation with a contemporary business approach – naturally drawn to simple, concise, agile work flows and communication.
- Assist with month end journal entries and accruals.
Education
- Post-Secondary Degree
- Completion or working towards payroll certification considered an asset
Skills and Experience
- Familiarity with JD Edwards and/or PayWorks would be a bonus
- Relevant accounting/payroll experience 2 – 5 years
- Intermediate advanced to advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Salary: $60,000.00-$68,000.00 per year
