Advisor To President, Project Delivery

IO’s Project Delivery Enterprise Team delivers some of the province’s largest and most important public infrastructure projects, including new hospitals, highways, transit systems, and courthouses. The role will provide leadership support, advice and expertise to the President of the Project Delivery Division. This includes analysis, strategic advice and recommendations on issues in alignment with the strategic objectives and priorities of the Division. The role will also manage the day-to-day operational requirements of the President, Project Delivery and help drive the success on top priorities. The successful candidate will proactively ensure all activities and decisions are in alignment with Infrastructure Ontario’s corporate objectives and strategies.

What You Will Do:

• Work with the Project Delivery Operations team to support the development of the divisional knowledge management strategy.
• Help manage high priority issues within the Project Delivery Division
• Monitor required government approvals and ensure that the President is fully briefed and engaged
• Identify, anticipate and direct issues, informing the President of items which require attention, and provide options and assistance to resolve issues.
• Participate in key meetings pertaining to partnership plans and strategic planning
• Work with the appropriate stakeholders and resources to take the lead in the determining and creating communications on behalf of President, Project Delivery regarding strategic updates and program updates to company
• Work with the Executive Assistant and Senior Administrative Assistant(s) to ensure the creation of and prepare agendas and materials
• Work with the Project Delivery Operations team to assist in ongoing assessment and reassessment of strategic and operational priorities for the division
• Prepare the President for speaking engagements
• Prepare materials and analysis to support interactions with external stakeholders and partners

What We’re Looking For:

• PMP (Project Management Professional) designation would be an asset
• Post-secondary education, preferably in business administration, commerce or a relevant discipline.
• Understanding of Broader Public sector (Agency) policies, programs and the legislative and government decision-making processes.
• 3 - 5 years experience supporting senior leadership.
• Experience in a government advisory capacity, briefing and making recommendations to senior executives and staff preferred
• Experience in anticipating and managing short and long term objectives, synthesizing meeting notes and minutes into action items, and providing support to assign associated tasks to working groups
• Experience in managing sensitive issues with tact, diplomacy and sound judgment
• Experience dealing directly with external stakeholders and 3rd parties, and aligning goals and supporting direction of priorities
