Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking an Accounting Technician to join our team at JM Agency, a holding company operating direct-to-consumer e-commerce stores out of our office in Montreal, Canada. We own 3 successful brands (Maddle, Montreal Weights, Ascend) and have fulfilled over 50 000 orders in Canada in the last 2 years alone. We are currently looking for bright talents to help fuel our growth and scale our brands (and our future ones) across North America and the rest of the world.

The Accounting Clerk & Admin Assistant role consists in assisting the Financial Controller in accounting and bookkeeping activities, as well as managing vendor payments, and supporting in various administrative responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Daily enter key data of financial transactions in database
  • Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas
  • Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
  • Compile and record vendor bills and prepare payments according to schedules
  • Proceed with courier and mailings
  • Assist in various administrative duties
  • Assist Financial Controller in preparing documentation for the production of year-end financial statements
  • Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
  • Perform various administrative reports
  • Reconcile accounts in a timely manner and in compliance with closing deadlines


REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Well organized
  • Education: DEC in Accounting or equivalent (an asset);
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a relevant accounting and/or administrative position;
  • Competency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), databases and other accounting softwares
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online (an asset);
  • Attention to detail and discretion essential
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
  • Ability to perform administrative filings and record keeping tasks
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping and accounting procedures
  • Data entry and word processing skills
