Technical Systems Support Analyst

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

Sr. Technical Systems Analyst to join our Middleware WebSphere AS Distributed platform support team that requires an eager and dependable go-getter team player supporting our various business partners. This role requires supporting West coast clients in Pacific Time zone and you will be responsible for ensuring proper monitoring and alerting is in place for problem avoidance, performing Root Cause Analysis and recommending performance improvements consulting to ensure optimal use of system resources to our business partners that utilize these services supporting mission critical applications.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Apply experience and seasoned knowledge, skills, and practices to perform a variety of assignments related to IBM HTTP Server and WebSphere Application Server support.
• Act as a Technical Middleware Subject Matter Expert (SME) on projects and go-to resource for solving critical technical issues or application architecture design according to RBC Middleware Standards.
• Responsible for stability of the environments and resolution of Level 2/Level 3 issues as well as performing and providing root cause analysis (i.e Troubleshoot Runtime & Application deployment failures/execution issues)
• Perform installation, upgrade, configuration, deployment, and administration of various of the WebSphere Application Server product across all Distributed platforms on an on-going basis across all distributed platforms: Windows Server, Linux/AIX.
• Build and maintain environments running WebSphere Application Server on VMWare and/or bare-metal systems.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to facilitate support during off hours and weekends if/when needed.
• Scripting and automating maintenance tasks to reduce or eliminate repetitive tasks by automating using scripting tools like Bash, Perl, PowerShell or Python

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience coupled with change management experience in complex environments with high frequency of requests and multiple priorities
• Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high-quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
• Knowledge of networking and enterprise access protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP/S, FTP/S, LDAP/S
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) along with strong problem-solving skills. Ability to determine the information and communication needs of the stakeholders and project.
• 3+ years’ experience in supporting Middleware solutions with IBM HTTP and WebSphere Application Sever ND edition
• Proficient in Windows and Linux operating system Administration

Nice-to-have:

• Supporting 24x7 environments which requires evening/weekend implementation involvement & support
• Web Infrastructure exposure/experience (Network Load balancers, Firewalls, Proxies)
• MQ Series, TCP/IP, DNS, Network Principals, Apache Web Server, OpenSSL, HTTP, HTML
• Experience with DevOps Integration tools (Ansible, Puppet, Jenkins)
• Experience with HTTP and SOAP as the message transport protocols as well knowledge of SIBus technology
