The successful candidate will initially work from home and there is potential for the position to be a permanent work from home opportunity. Our ideal candidate is located in Ontario, with ability to travel to either of our locations to work in office, if and when necessary.
Summary
As a member of the Technology Services Team, the Technical Project Coordinator is the primary point-person responsible for communicating and supporting activities associated with project life cycles for operational and corporate level projects from a technical delivery standpoint. This includes leading and supporting the project intake process; project initiation; project planning; project communication and coordination; and project execution including requirements definition, issue resolution, risk assessment, and project closure. They partner with Canaccede’s internal teams to ensure efficient delivery of project deliverables, effective quality control, clear communication of expectations to stakeholders, and upward reporting to senior management throughout each project’s lifecycle. Technical Project Coordinator takes the lead role driving competitive advantage for Canaccede in ensuring all projects are prioritized and delivered within scope, timeline and budget. These projects are critical to advancing capabilities supportive of organizational growth, efficiency and client satisfaction.
What does a typical day look like?
- Deliver project communication plans report ongoing status updates to VP Technology and other key stakeholders
- Work with other operational leaders in the organization to monitor and manage overall spectrum of commitments and deliverables to ensure seamless production delivery of new features within the organization’s suite of solutions, including evaluating workload capacity, developing and managing project schedules, defining inter-dependencies, assessing risks, tracking/reporting status of projects including ROI
- Actively identify roadblocks and recommend solutions within project teams and relevant functional areas including business units, information technology and outside vendors
- Facilitate the development of technical requirements from business requirements
- Implement effective reporting and process check mechanisms to ensure adherence to methodologies and processes
- Identify and assist in the development of training requirements for the delivery of system projects
- Set up files to ensure all project information is appropriately documented and secured
- Help ensure project deliverables are on time, within budget, and at the required level of quality
- Work with development teams to plan time and resource estimates for project delivery
- Other duties as required
- Take an active role in working with third-party and customers stakeholders to drive integration of data, systems, and services with Canaccede products and services
- Work closely with the Marketing Team to support their delivery of new product capabilities and features to market
- Maintain professional development through attendance at meetings, professional seminars, and conferences
- Provide clarification to project teams including assignment of individual responsibilities, tasks, technical functions, and monitor progress all individuals to ensure deadlines are met
- Support our offshore development teams to drive execution of development and QA activities from the feature backlog
- Work with the VP Technology to define and report on the portfolio of projects in progress, as well as defining the upcoming pipeline of projects.
- Communicate project status and issues to all stakeholders; facilitate creation of contingency plans to mitigate risk
- Work with business stakeholders on defining individual project scope and objectives, and obtaining business user sign-off on requirements
- Directly engage and encourage stakeholders to produce results, and foster a work environment conducive to process improvement
What qualifications are required for this position?
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in project management, working on many projects simultaneously; ideally managing software development or integration projects
- Experience in financial services or related industries is a strong asset, including knowledge of relevant Canadian industry concepts and regulations such as FINTRAC, AML / KYC policies, etc.
- Good understanding of data architecture principals
- Good knowledge of Salesforce Sales & Marketing Cloud, Force.com, and related Salesforce platforms
- Collaborative leadership experience, with emphasis on a customer centric approach in effective communication
- Experience leading development projects on the Salesforce platform is a strong asset
- Experience managing offshore development teams is also an asset
- Accuracy and attention to detail while working under tight deadlines
- Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
- Ability to foster teamwork amongst diverse groups to enhance organizational effectiveness
- Experience leading technical development and QA teams
- Ability to build and maintain constructive relationships with corporate departments and key business partners
- Project Management designation or equivalent experience ideal, but not required
- Experience in preparing and delivering presentations to senior level stakeholders would be helpful
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or similar discipline or equivalent relevant experience
What type of scheduling does Canaccede Financial Group offer?
This full-time role requires availability during core hours of operation (Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM).
