GHD Digital’s Product Development team develops award-winning software solutions for Municipal Governments, Utilities, and the Environmental markets. The Director, Software and Solutions is responsible for leading a global team in the delivery of high quality and performant software solutions!

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Empower and encourage others within the team, investing time in people by acting as a mentor.
• Hire and manage a team of extraordinary team members who will build platform and consumer facing solutions to meet the commercial needs
• Help others to understand how they contribute to the overall success of a project and the wider team strategy.
• Demonstrate a collaborative and business outcome focused leadership style.
• Evaluate solutions for potential productization and monetization and provide recommendations back to the Practice Director, GSSC and other partners.
• Coordinate software development staff to maximize utilization and control costs (direct and dotted line);
• Work closely with Practice Director, GSSC and other stakeholders in identifying potential cost savings.
• Collaborate with Software Architecture, Solution Architecture, and Quality teams within GSSC to ensure efficient, performance, scalable software solutions.
• Enable smooth daily operations across all products and services
• Lead outsourced partners to deliver projects and/or augment teams.
• Collaborate with Corporate IS on software development and deployment standards, security, and operational controls.
• Ensure that GSSC can provide technical resources to support client business pursuits
• Foster an environment of idea generation and creative thinking.
• Coordinate with Cloud Operations to ensure that delivered software solutions are performant, efficient, and secure.
• Work to resolve service level agreements (SLAs), business requirements, infrastructure support, and technical support structures.
• Lead Digital’s GSSC software development team in support of the Product & Platforms practice.
• Collaborate with Product Management, CX to deliver against product roadmaps and customer SLAs.
• Support the development and implementation of software engineering standards across the Digital business.
• Ensure standards, quality, and scalability of solutions through prescribed software engineering processes.
• Work with PnP to resolve SLAs, program support structures required to facilitate growth objectives.

What you will bring to the team:

• Strong understanding of Cloud-based software architectural best-practices. Azure preferred.
• Proven track record of building and leading Agile teams.
• Experience collaborating with a product management organization in the evolution of a product portfolio.
• Experience leading and motivating a multi-faceted global team.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or equivalent subject.
• 10+ years' experience in SaaS software product leadership positions.
• Experience creating a culture of innovation, urgency, and accountability.
