Technical Project Manager - Compliance And Privacy

Brief Overview:

Have a very large compliance initiative (privacy project) and are looking at modernizing privacy capabilities within the company with the new legislation that has come into effect.

Looking for someone with strong compliance and privacy experience, who knows legislation and how to best adhere. Need to be able to drive a large cross functional initiative that covers all of Canada. All the teams in Canada will be involved and need a candidate who can communicate initiative requirements and has the project management experience to organize people, set a clear path, and make sure it happens by the deadline.

Responsibilities:

• Proactively identifying, assessing, and managing risks that impede successful project delivery
• Demonstrated ability to work in a complex matrix environment to drive alignment and achieve objectives
• Actively prioritizing work to ensure objectives are met
• Able to achieve all tasks using own judgement, but does not hesitate to escalate as required when roadblocks outside of span of control arise
• Very strong MS Office suite user
• Ensuring effective change management occurs throughout the course of the project
• Defining, documenting and completing complex, high impact projects with a great number of interdependencies
• Privacy and Compliance experience within Financial Institutions an asset
• Tenacious in a professional, polite manner
• Foresees problems instead of solving them, recognizes the needs for flexibility and diverse solutions
• 10+ years of project / program management experience, including:
• Communicating clearly to all stakeholders involved; ability to tailor communications depending on target audience (Executive vs. working team; technical vs. business, etc.)
• Ability to understand context - understands the overall 'picture' in most situations
• Can lead medium to large sized groups where required
• Articulating clear plans with milestones; holding people accountable to action plans
