The career you want.
The Manager, Finance will be a supporting member of The Source Controller team. The Source Controllers are responsible for the integrity of The Source’s financial statements and support the business unit by ensuring the effectiveness of business processes and through compliance with accounting rules and regulations.
The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and technical skills and a clear ability to identify and interpret accounting and control issues. The successful candidate will also have strong verbal and written communication skills in order to build relationships at various levels of the organization and have the confidence necessary to participate in discussions. In addition, the successful candidate will be a self-starter that is able to work independently to complete specified tasks under tight deadlines within a fast-paced working environment.

• Support Business and Finance operations in providing appropriate accounting guidance on Capital project and new contract reviews. This requires strong technical acumen combined with ability to understand business needs and processes.
• Prime all other policy and compliance work not limited to analyzing income and sales taxes, insurance activities and provisioning review.
• First point of contact for internal and external audit functions.
• Work closely with contacts in Finance Operations to review monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and provisions for reasonableness. This includes conducting independent investigations to resolve issues and make corrections where necessary.
• Support The Source’s SOx 302 and 404 annual compliance program through planning, monitoring and executing the audit process with minimal impact to business users and processes. This includes guiding business operations to internal controls and regulatory compliance and identifying opportunities for streamlining the program.
• Critically evaluate current financial processes in order to identify areas of improvements and potential efficiencies with high degree of independence
• Liaise between our Corporate Responsibility & Environment team and business operations to monitor, report and support solutions on Environmental compliance.

• Very strong analytical, organization and problem-solving skills with proven ability and tenacity to resolve issues independently
• Technical accounting acumen with an ability to provide and clearly communicate sound accounting guidance while understanding business needs, accounting risks and control gaps
• Focus on constantly growing and developing self and team member in technical and leadership qualities
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office; advanced excel skills preferred
• Ability to partner and build strong relationships with cross-functional operational and finance teams
• Results oriented with the ability to prioritize concurrent deliverables and consistently deliver on time with a high degree of accuracy
• Critical thinking with a passion and track record for understanding and improving end to end processes
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with experience presenting to senior management and effectively leading accounting / auditing discussions with business operations
• CPA (or working towards) with 2+ years of experience in public accounting or industry; SOX experience is an asset
