Business Analyst, Payments (Presto) Customer Channels

Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. As a Business Analyst for PRESTO's digital channels, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of our website and mobile app. Your primary responsibility will be to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into functional specifications, ensuring the delivery of high-quality digital experiences for our customers. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Vendors, Developers, Customer Experience, and other internal/external stakeholders, to deliver innovative and customer-centric solutions that enhance the usability and efficiency of our digital platforms.

What will I be doing?

• Act as the Lead Subject Matter expert on digital asset analytics tools such as Firebase and Google Analytics
• Assist the Digital Channel owner to maintain the product backlog, conduct analysis on the relative feature benefits and publish the product roadmap
• Under the direction of the Digital Channel Product Owner, work with stakeholders to develop and document Functional Requirements, User Stories and Acceptance Criteria in support of new releases to PRESTO digital platforms
• Write and execute test cases to ensure that new/existing PRESTO functionality for each production release meets functional needs. Digital channels include existing websites, apps and any future capability
• Research and monitor trends in digital channels and products
• Aggregate and publish monthly digital KPI’s and metrics
• Assist in the development of business cases and assist the execution of governance activities to move any initiatives forward
• Support content management and tagging of PRESTO digital platforms

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?

• Experience with computerized quantitative and analytical tools (e.g. data modeling, workflows, and business process analysis) and with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project, etc.)
• Demonstrated experience with web and app analytic tools such as Google Analytics (GA4 and Universal Analytics), Firebase, Siteimprove, Google Tag Manager to analyze and improve the customer experience.
• Experience with content management systems preferred. Some technical knowledge or education around CSS, HTML, and JavaScript would be an asset.
• Experience successfully deploying technology solutions in the transport or construction industry is an asset
• Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Process Improvement, or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst or similar role in digital projects, preferably in website and mobile app development
• Interpersonal, oral/written/presentation communications skills to document and present business needs, specifications, reports, project documents, and implementation plans
