Role Overview

eBay Canada is seeking an experienced technical program manager to join our team. This role is very similar to a ‘business product manager’ role. It requires a strong, multi-skilled, pro-active problem-solver who starts with customer needs and works with the entire organization to ensure the eBay experience best meets those needs. You will partner with global product teams to solve for and absorb any Canadian complexities associated with their projects. You will prepare business cases, customer stories, and/or functional requirements as necessary in pursuit of internal product investment and prioritization. You will use data to monitor product health for anomalies and ensure any major sites issues are reported and resolved. This role is one degree removed from the engineers and scrum teams; instead, in this role, you will be partnering with technical product managers in the Product organization.

Ideally this role will be based in Toronto, but in special cases we are open to remote working. The role will report to the Head of Product & Operations at eBay Canada.

What You Need To Succeed

• Highly consultative and collaborative, you prefer working with others and embrace different points of view in problem solving and application or interface design.
• Intellectually curious and creative, you are inventive, but also disciplined and rigorous in your approach to product management.
• Comfortable with ambiguity, you thrive on maneuvering your way around unknowns to breakdown and solve complex problems and pivoting when necessary to achieve your goals.
• You are fanatical about building great customer experiences, but also mature and experienced enough to operate effectively in a large, matrixed organization.

Qualifications

• Significant experience (5+ years) working in Internet or eCommerce Product Management with a track record of learning, achievement and success
• University degree
• Strong grounding in both web usability and technology
• Experience with payments platforms is an asset
