About The Team

Stripe builds economic infrastructure for the internet. We’re moving beyond payments and “up the stack” to help our users run their businesses more effectively. Issuing is developing new APIs to empower businesses to launch physical and virtual card programs. We aim to help businesses deploy novel use cases that rely on fully programmable payment instruments.

What you’ll do

As a Staff Technical Program Manager in the Banking as a Service space, you will play a key role within engineering and drive programs that span across the organization. You will be responsible for the successful definition, cross-functional strategy, planning and execution of large-scale technical programs that help to solve complex problems and enable us to get our products built and launched to our users.

Responsibilities

• Create canonical documentation of plans and processes, driving consistency and alignment across teams
• Partner with Engineering Managers, Product Managers and other Technical Program Managers to define, scope and improve the operational efficiency needs within the teams
• Operationalize and execute on key cross functional programs spanning all engineering organizations
• Define and standardize documentation and project communication processes
• Develop, implement, and iterate on program management procedures, frameworks, and metrics to achieve goals with defined success criteria
• Develop, define and report on program health and success metrics
• Leverage data to drive strategic decisions and reporting at the leadership level
• Execute on technical programs that require systems and engineering level knowledge

Minimum Requirements

• You are not satisfied with just delivering a program on time—you are discerning about product/infrastructure architecture and obsessed with quality, reliability & correctness.
• 7+ years of software engineering, systems engineering or technical product/program management experience.
• You can drive internal and external process improvements across multiple teams and functions.
• Experience operating autonomously and leading large-scale efforts across multiple teams and functions, with stakeholders in different disciplines across time zones.
• You have strong written and verbal communication skills, building strong relationships with stakeholders and teams around the organization.
• You have a track record of providing program management during all phases of software development from kick-off to ship, demonstrating critical thinking and thought leadership.
• Analytical and problem-solving experience with large-scale platforms, infrastructure and organizations.
• Experience leading initiatives with a global footprint having built APIs, products, and complex systems/infrastructure at scale.
