The team…
We are the friendly faces that welcome members and guests to work out, relax, dine in or stay over. Our team is passionate about hospitality and brings a deep understanding of the local neighborhood to provide suggestions and act as a master concierge. Ability to answer and manage high volume phone lines, book rooms (where applicable) delegate out inquiries and respond to incoming request through well articulate and professional written or verbal communication.
The role…
At Soho House a Club Receptionist, is responsible for welcoming, directing or signing in all members and guests to the property. As a Club Receptionist, you will wear many hats and oversee the diverse portfolio of your local properties; reception desk and handle basic computer duties, host in the Restaurant and Rooftop, as well as performing Guest List responsibilities.
A successful and experienced, Club Receptionist is responsible for being knowledgeable on all aspects of the property, neighborhood and fostering the "home away from home" feeling. We hope that you're a people person with excellent professional phone etiquette and a flair for making members and guests feel welcome!
Main Duties
  • Build relationships with members and guests and communicate and red flags and positive feedback to management.
  • Influence a fun and positive atmosphere by being approachable and professional.
  • Well-versed on standard Q&A regarding menus, hours of operation and amenity availability/pricing.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work environment, reception area, desk and coat check closet.
  • Maintains the Health & Safety standards as per the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA), Canada
  • Answer high-volume phone lines and calls for restaurant, roof and cinema reservations, general inquiries, and deliveries, messages for members and from employees; among other inquiries.
  • Perform Guest List duties on the floor level, club and/or Rooftop (if applicable).
  • Ensure every member is welcomed by name and guest is welcomed with open arms and in a hospitable manner.
  • Support, redirect and problem solve in real-time to ensure any guest related concerns are addressed and action items have been set.
  • Assist guests by checking/ retrieving their coats and/or items they left.
Required Skills/Qualifications
  • Problem solving skills and bring conflict resolution to any anticipated or current matter
  • Flexible schedule and ability to work nights, weekends and holiday's (as needed)
  • Must have experience answering high-volume phone lines and answering inquiries professionally, timely and to the best of your abilities.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • OpenTable, Salesforce and Opera experience is a plus not a must
  • Detail oriented, articulate and ability to multi-task in a high-volume and demanding work environment
  • Minimum of 2+ years' experience in a similar role.
Physical Requirements
  • Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.
  • Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.
  • Must be able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 20 pounds.
  • Fast paced movements are required to go from one part of the club to others.
  • Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.
