Our client, in the logistics industry, is looking for a Senior System Administrator to join their team in Montreal on a contractual basis.

Overview

As a Senior System Administrator, you’ll be responsible for provisioning, installing, configuring, and providing maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related backend infrastructure for servers and storage.

YOU'LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

· Assign and track the progress of tickets distributed in the team.

· Serve as an escalation point for Support desk support; troubleshoot and resolve level 3 system problems either independently or as part of a team, seek and obtain support from software vendors, hardware manufacturers and/or appropriate in-house experts.

· Manage Windows and Linux Servers, Active Directory Domain Services, Email systems, VMware Servers, SAN storage and high-availability systems.

· Demonstrate an ability to provide required maintenance and maintain system documentation.

· Configure, monitor, and manage Servers, Backend Software, Backup Software, Patch Management, Anti-Virus, etc.

· Participate in technical research and development to promote innovation within the backend infrastructure environment.

· Assist project teams in technical issues.

· Provide support and technical assistance to operational support staff, development teams, as well as all system users if needed.

· Participate in incident resolution and documentation.

· Perform other duties as requested by your manager, depending on operational needs.

· Provide out-of-hours on-call support for critical production systems when required.

YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

· College Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related fields, or equivalent work experience.

· Excellent knowledge on infrastructure technologies (servers, virtualization, networking, end user computing, etc.).

· Technical knowledge of current networking hardware (routers, switches, access points, etc.).

· Windows and Linux operating systems experience.

· Microsoft SCCM experience.

· Bilingualism (French & English).

· Server and SAN storage hardware experience.

· Virtualization experience (VMware) is key.

· Data Protection experience.

· Experience with High-availability environments.

· Analytical and problem-solving abilities.

· Can work effectively as part of a team.

· Ability to provide technical support in a professional manner.

· Ability to conduct research into technical issues and products as required.

· Attention to detail with the ability to determine root cause.

· Ability to work under pressure.
