Role And Responsibilities

IT Systems Administrator

Responsibilities:

• Makes recommendations on the lifecycle of infrastructure technologies.
• Answers complex technical questions escalated from other IT groups.
• Contributes, reviews and approves technical solution design documents to address requirements, integration, test plans and test cases.
• Efficiently executes project delivery during plan, execution, control and close phases with emphasis on scope, risk, quality, and communication management.
• Maintains stability, security and control of infrastructure systems and services in a global computing environment.

Qualifications:

• Must be a good team player, while also have the capacity to work autonomously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Technical Degree (BAC/DEC) in a technology discipline and/or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Must be innovative, creative, and accountable.
• 5 to10+ years experience in management and maintenance of IT infrastructure environment.
• Ability to interface and work with CAE Global IT Administrators.
• Travel may be required to CAE sites worldwide (5%).
• Bilingualism (French and English) is required.
• Ability to interface with CAE IT users (customers) at all levels.

Technical areas of expertise must include:

• Familiar with storage and network concepts related to virtualization.
• Experience with the following is an asset:
• Minimum 5 years installing and configuring servers and switches, including Hyperflex. (Cisco, Dell, HP).
• Familiar with MS Windows technologies (Win7/Win10)
• Minimum 2 years in managing Linux and Unix servers.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in managing, monitoring, and maintaining VMWare UCS Virtualization environment.
• Minimum 5 years experience in deploying and administering Microsoft Server Operating Systems.
• Knowledge of GDPR regulations is an asset.
• Microsoft certifications and experience with VMWARE technologies is an asset.
• Azure
• Office 365
• Microsoft technologies and/or VMWARE certifications
• ITSM
• SCOM
• Controlled Goods and elevated security clearances (NATO Secret) are a requirement of the position. Only eligible candidates will be considered.
• Familiar with incident/change management best practices (ITIL).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in managing, monitoring, and maintaining VDI environments.
• Familiar with Datacenter management.
