It Systems Analyst Jobs

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Systems Analyst to join our dynamic team in Montréal, QC. As a vital member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional application production support.

Your primary responsibilities will encompass first and second-line technical support for our production environment, ensuring the smooth operation of critical systems. You will collaborate with various teams, including Level 3 support, Development, and Infrastructure, to identify and resolve production issues promptly and perform root cause analysis.

Your proactive monitoring, management, and optimization of our production environments and application layers will be essential in maintaining high availability and performance. You will also be responsible for incident management, documentation, and participation in important projects related to updates, upgrades, and enhancements.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Development teams to prioritize enhancements and bug fixes.
• Foster effective communication and coordination with upstream and downstream application support teams.
• Collaborate closely with Level 3 support, Development, and Infrastructure teams to promptly address production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and ensure timely resolutions.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive procedure and process documentation.
• Engage in regular Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) exercises.
• Oversee release deployment, perform post-release checks, and facilitate communication to relevant stakeholders.
• Proactively monitor, manage, and optimize the availability and performance of production environments, including middleware and databases.
• Utilize monitoring tools to oversee application components and data flows, taking preemptive actions to prevent data issues, performance bottlenecks, and application outages.
• Execute or coordinate projects related to obsolescence, migrations, application upgrades, and cloud initiatives (IV2).
• Coordinate effectively with Infrastructure teams during server patching and upgrades to ensure application stability.
• Participate actively in release cycles, conducting functional validation across staging, pre-production, and production environments.
• Act as the initial point of contact for production environment issues, providing Level 1 and Level 2 functional and technical support.
• Ensure accurate and timely logging of issues and incidents in the incident management system with detailed information.
• Contribute to various projects related to updates, upgrades, obsolescence, and vulnerability management.

Requirements:

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows, UNIX, and Linux operating systems. Excellent knowledge of databases, including Oracle and SQL. Familiarity with IT tools such as Geneos, ServiceNow, Autosys, Jenkins, Dynatrace, and scripting languages such as Perl, Python, and PowerShell. Working knowledge or familiarity with file transfer protocols/tools like CFT, FTP, and SFTP.
• Education: Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT Systems.
• Leadership & Communication: Self-motivated and capable of mentoring and motivating team members. Effective trainer to improve team members' knowledge and skills. Encourages innovation and fosters a positive mindset within the team through appreciation and recognition. Strong communication skills for reviewing incidents, changes, and problem management procedures. Confident engagement with stakeholders on application and production support topics. Proactively engages with sponsors and business stakeholders to understand the Voice of the Customer (VoC). Openness to problem-solving and collaborative solution-seeking.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of Application Production Support experience.
