The Flight Performance team is part of the Civil Aftermarket group, and we aim to keep flight simulators up to date so our customers can use cutting edge technologies for training and making the sky a safer place. Our employees design innovative solutions to address technological challenges on a daily basis.

The role we are offering you:

• Update complex performance systems such as aerodynamics and flight controls.
• Act as a first line of support during acceptance and qualification on updates projects.
• Understand aircraft flight dynamics and apply that knowledge to validate aircraft simulators.
• Train and mentor co-workers on performance systems and develop oneself as a simulator system generalist.
• Integrate, test and validate real time flight simulation model in laboratory environment as well as on flight simulators for various aircraft types, either remotely or on site.
• Interact with customers, other engineers and air crews, both at our factory and customer site.
• Analyze the projects requirements and prepare the simulator configuration.
• Identify and fix software and hardware problems interacting with appropriate engineers/technicians.

Our ideal candidate has:

• Ability to demonstrate strong project ownership, and ability to work and make decisions unsupervised.
• Bilingualism (French and English) is required.
• Ability to troubleshoot and debug integrated systems.
• Good communication skills.
• Experience on various simulator performance systems (Flight, Flight Control, Motion, Sound, Engines) is an asset.
• Experience in supporting customer acceptances, field installations and simulators qualification.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical engineering.
• Ability to program in C, C++ or Fortran in Unix/ Linux/Windows environment.
• Knowledge of aerodynamics, flight dynamics and control theory
• Pro-active, flexible, team player.
• Knowledge of CAE's simulation technologies an asset.
• Availability to travel to customer sites
• In accordance with CAE’s Epidemic/Pandemic vaccination policy, as the work to be performed occurs on a customer site where vaccination is required by the Government of Canada, there is a condition of employment to be fully vaccinated.
