Superna is seeking an experienced IT/Data Center Manager to lead our company's IT department and manage the day-to-day operations of our datacenter in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The IT/Data Center Manager will be responsible for managing our desktop and datacenter support team and ensuring the availability, security, and efficiency of our IT infrastructure. This is an amazing opportunity to have a direct and meaningful impact in a fast-growing business, and to run the full gamut of IT operations, from facilities to security. The ideal candidate is keenly interested in the interconnectivity of these functions, and takes pride in improving and maintaining a valued and vital infrastructure for their organization.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in datacenter management, VMware, Cisco, and Dell Technologies, and a track record of successfully managing an IT team. You possess extensive knowledge of the aforementioned role, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience, and perform continuous improvements to the virtual infrastructure while working with other functional department leaders. Ideally you also have competent knowledge of datacenter infrastructure (power, cooling, fiber, and cabling).
The ideal candidate will have the dynamic ability to meet tight deadlines as required while managing competing priorities. Ultimately, you are dedicated and committed to your critical role in the team’s success, can identify issues and opportunities for enhancement, can clearly communicate and delegate task requirements to the team members, then track task progress to completion for final reporting.
This is a full time, Monday – Friday position that requires on-call 24/7 availability in the case of critical incidents impacting our global workforce, for which, a cell phone, flexible remote work arrangements, and computing are provided.
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage vendor relationships for the IT department and datacenter
- Lead IT projects and ensure they are delivered on time and within budget
- Manage and lead the IT department including the full scope of people-management; team development, performance management, scheduling, process approvals, regular updates to executive leadership, onboarding and training coordination, and other staffing concerns as they arise
- Oversee the day-to-day operations and the availability of the datacenter, including security, power, cooling, networking, storage, and computing
- Work with other cross-functional teams to provide seamless Service Delivery
- Communicate issues and solutions that may impact the team, provide weekly and Monthly status reports on projects
- Improve, develop, and implement IT policies and procedures
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and resolve IT-related issues and providing regular reports on datacenter operations, consumption and inventory
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and make recommendations for future investments
- Escalation liaison to facility power, security, HVAC and maintenance contractors
- Coordination of shipping and receiving logistics
Private Cloud Data Center Operations
Superna has an extensive operational dependency on private cloud assets. You have extensive knowledge of:
- VMware hypervisors, Cisco and Dell compute and networking devices, Dell/EMC Storage, VPNs and firewalls.
- Layer 2 and 3 TCP/IP bridging, switching, routing and physical CatX/fiber connectivity
- VMWare Virtual Infrastructure Management, Monitoring and Orchestration
- Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WSUS Windows PowerShell
- Data Infrastructure (Power, Cooling, Racking, Cabling, Safety) planning and management
- Firewall rule-based management and VPN tunnel connectivity
- Datacenter infrastructure administration, implementation and steady state management Dell SAN/NAS, Cisco UCS Compute/Network/Fabric
Public Cloud Data Center Operations
Superna has resources deployed in all three major (Azure, Amazon, Google) public cloud resource providers. You have confident and skillful operational knowledge of the following skills in all three providers and can recommend, coordinate the IT team in its execution of cloud resource deployments, patching, and security.
Desktop IT Support Manager
You will manage the IT team that is responsible for desktop support escalations, windows desktop lifecycle management; image creation and maintenance, patching, endpoint security/antivirus and firewall, login and remote desktop AD Account creation and management, windows policy administration, VPN access, asset inventory and management and network wired/wireless service provisioning and maintenance.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of cooling and power systems,
- Strong technical background in VMware, Cisco, and Dell Technologies
- 8+ years of experience in IT and datacenter management
- Strong organizational, leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills
- 5+ years of experience administering VMware vSphere 6.x infrastructure using VMware provided tools
- Experience with Dell/EMC NAS/SAN storage array configuration and administration
- CISCO MDS SAN Switch Fabric Administration
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Experience working in data center environments
- Hands on experience working with VCE’s Vblock and supporting components (Cisco UCS, Nexus, EMC) or similar blade technologies
- VMware vCenter certification would be beneficial,
- Communication: ability to clearly articulate situations / concerns to cross-functional teams, including non-technical staff and clients
- EMC VNX EMC Isilon Configuration and Administration
- Experience managing IT teams and leading IT projects
- Knowledge of security and network technologies,
- Windows Domain Administration, patching and policy management.
Desirable Skills
- Endpoint protection security administration and security scanners
- Microsoft, Linux, VMware VCP certification(s)
- High level or experience with VCE’s VBLOCK converged infrastructure stack
- Hands on experience working with EMC converged technologies and supporting components (ie VxRail)
- PFSense and OpenVPN firewall/VPN Provisioning
- 2+ years of experience with VMware value-add products such as vRealize Operations, vSAN, and vRealize Automation
- 3+ years of experience with scripting and automating infrastructure tasks using scripting languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, PowerShell, or Bash
- Facilities Management (Power, Generator, Cooling, Physical)
- Lansweeper inventory and discovery
- ITIL
- Ubiquiti Networking
