We are actively seeking a highly experienced and visionary Procurement Leader to join our dynamic and innovative team within the Government of Canada on a full-time basis. Your role will be pivotal in integrating the latest procurement methods while collaborating with clients and colleagues to develop IT procurement strategies. Job Responsibilities:As a key member of this dynamic and forward-thinking organization, you will lead a team and have the autonomy to work on complex procurement files within your assigned area of responsibility. Your expertise and innovative approach will be instrumental in providing strategic advice, guidance, and cutting-edge procurement solutions to management, clients, and stakeholders. In addition, you will serve as an ambassador and mentor to junior staff, playing a pivotal role in their professional development.
Specific duties include:
- Driving the creation, review, and approval of Request for Proposals (RFPs)
- Leveraging your expertise to provide insights on procurement-related issues and demonstrating a profound understanding of departmental operations, as well as the interconnections between business lines, procurement, and corporate services.
- Inspiring, supervising, and managing a team of highly skilled procurement professionals.
- Contributing to the modernization of IT procurement and infrastructure within the organization, pushing boundaries and embracing cutting-edge technologies and methodologies.
- Collaborating closely with clients and colleagues to develop visionary procurement strategies that align with the organization's ambitious goals.
Qualifications:
- A proactive self-starter with a strong drive for continuous learning and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to embrace a hybrid work model, allocating 2 days per week to work from the nearest Government of Canada office.
- Possess a minimum of 7 years of procurement experience.
- Outstanding communication skills to effectively engage with management, clients, and stakeholders.
- A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
- Exceptional leadership abilities with a proven track record of fostering effective collaboration and providing guidance to team members.
- Bilingual proficiency in both French and English is mandatory.
Preferred:
- Experience with the federal government procurement process. Consideration will be given to other procurement processes.
