Job Description

Location: Remote / Virtual

Language Requirement: Canadian French (100% of sessions)

Contract Duration: Estimated 15-50 sessions per fiscal year, exact dates to be determined

Salary: industry rate


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced French Writing Training Facilitator to conduct specialized training sessions for a maximum of 15 participants per class. The scope of training includes Writing Reports, Writing Briefing Notes, and Clear, Concise, and Impactful Writing and Oral Presentation. The training will be delivered virtually, spread over half or full days, and the courses will range from 7.5 to 15 hours.


Key Responsibilities

Course Content Development and Delivery: Adapt the training content to the issues and challenges of the participants.


Pre-Training Meetings: Attend kick-off meetings with the Coordinator to finalize the details of each training session and providing all materials before the sessions.


Interactive Presentations: Deliver interactive presentations, including periods for practical exercises, discussion, Q&A, with a theory/practice ratio of 40% and 60% respectively.


Post-Training Deliverables: Provide job aids summarizing the concepts covered in each session.


Quality Assurance and Logistics: Communicate with the Coordinator for administrative management, updates, and other quality assurance activities.

  • Canadian French fluency


Delivery and Constraints

  • Provide electronic learning materials in advance
  • Virtual sessions on Microsoft Teams or Zoom
  • Work in the Eastern standard time zone


Facilitator Expectations

  • Assist learners with the virtual classroom application
  • Moderate and facilitate interactive discussions
  • Adapt to various learning styles and needs
  • Create a positive, supportive learning environment


Develop a synthesis-oriented mindset

  • Move from “analysis mode” to “synthesis mode”
  • Adapt your message according to recipients and their challenges
  • Understand and grasp the usefulness of the synthesis for interlocutors which will allow them to grasp the essence of the message in a short space of time


Qualifications

  • Strong virtual communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Teams or Zoom
  • Preferably experience working with public sector.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in professional training facilitation
  • Fluency in Canadian French
  • Familiarity with government reporting and documentation
  • Ability to adapt content and approach based on participant needs
