What You’ll Do


The Operations and Release Management Analyst will be responsible for the operational excellence of the SRE capacity for supply chain. Our focus is on ensuring that interruptions in supply chain operations are minimized, and if they do occur are resolved in a timely manner. Through the implementation of SRE best practices, tools, procedures, and processes our goal is to improve system stability. Our work is ensuring the Canadian Tire supply chain operations are as frictionless as possible and is a key pillar in our mission to become the #1


Reporting to the Manager, Supply Chain Technology Delivery, the Operations and Release Management Analyst will ensure systems stability working as the SME for all things operations. He/she play a critical role as the key SME for operational process and procedures in supply chain. The processes, procedures, and tools will be designed in an efficient manner based on the experience and recommendations of this operational SME. They will ensure all stakeholders are familiar with the designed processes and follow through with the enforcement of all requirements.


This role is also an active participant in all aspects of Site Reliability Engineering, including technical vision, telemetry and observation decisions, framework development, solution delivery, incident, and post- mortem management.


  • Act as an SME in operational support reviewing incidents, changes, and post-mortems to identify gaps and learnings to implement across supply chain
  • Design, develop, and document SRE standards across the Supply Chain organization
  • Identify gaps by analyzing data and working with Supply Chain product groups to understand current processes and procedures
  • Creating checks and balances to ensure compliance with created processes and procedures
  • Provide recommendations on operational procedures including the tools leveraged ensuring they’re as efficient as possible
  • Participate and contribute to CTC’s Supply Chain SRE Operations roadmap, including being a SME for other groups looking to implement SRE concepts
  • Maintain collaborative working relationships with interfacing groups within IT and across business boundaries.


What You Bring


  • Excellent ability to liaise with business users, IT personnel, and vendors gathering requirements and delivering solutions
  • Strong technical & analytical skills in troubleshooting and correlating information. Previous system administrator or IT operational support experience
  • Experience in IT operational support including being involved in incidents, changes, and root cause investigations
  • Experience with release management including but not limited to: Intake, Plan, Testing (Unit, regression, security), performance testing, deployment strategies (canary, blue/green, pilot, feature), post change smoke tests


Must Have Skills


  • 5-7 years in an IT operational capacity w/ hands-on experience in application or infrastructure troubleshooting
  • 3-5 years experience in Release management, Capacity management
  • CI/CD / Pipeline experience (On-prem & Cloud)


Nice To Have Skills


  • Lifecycle Management & Knowledge Management
  • SRE experience is an asset
  • Experience using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or other scripting/automation languages
  • Knowledge of Retail Business/Supply Chain is an asset
  • System design and architecture
  • Azure pipelines
  • Quality assurance (QA) case development including automation of tests
