What you'll be doing

As a member of the General Accounting Team, the Senior Financial Analyst supports all Lines of Business in CIBC and is knowledgeable in general accounting processes and procedures. You will be working closely with various business partners and Finance teams. You will focus on accounting control to ensure the integrity of financial close, complete month end process through timely accounting entries review, reporting, balance sheet reconciliation, income statement analysis and and conduct ad-hoc analysis as required from various stakeholders. In addition, this position is responsible for driving continuous process improvement through standardization and automation with aim to improve efficiency and reduce redundancy.

• Accounting and controls – You have in-depth knowledge of general accounting policies and practices and strong business and analytical skills to assess and interpret business needs. You have good understanding of CIBC Financial Control framework to support and ensure integrity of financial data.
• Relationship management – You have good communication, teamwork, partnership and relationship building skills sufficient to act in a collaborative manner with team members and stakeholders from different backgrounds and experiences. You will liaise regularly with outsource service provider, CFO Finance, Taxation, Policy and all Line of Businesses and Functional Groups.
