Position Overview:


The Senior Financial Analyst, North America, will play a key role in the financial planning & analysis and help Canada Goose understand the financial story of the North American Retail business. You will be a business partner to the Senior Director of Stores, the Retail Operations team, and the North American President, through taking ownership of the financial information and the related analysis to assist decision making to drive growth.


What You'll Do:


  • Forecast and track capital expenditures for stores
  • Act as a business partner to the Senior Director of Stores, working closely to glean financial insights to better understand the success of their business
  • Work closely with Retail Operations and Regional Managers to build detailed weekly labour forecasts, and help set financial guardrails and guidance for headcount and labour spend for each store
  • Work closely with the Global FP&A and Accounting teams to prepare monthly accruals, month-end variance analysis, and close commentary
  • Assist in building business cases, models, post-event analysis, and other ad-hoc analysis to support initiatives in the North American market
  • Own the budget, quarterly forecasts, and long-range planning for the Retail channel, including building forecasts tailored to each store, and presenting to senior Finance and senior North America leadership teams
  • Prepare and analyze store P&Ls monthly to understand the unique business drivers of each store location and major cost variances
  • Work cross functionality to analyze KPIs, draw insights from the business, and collect supplementary data to support the build of annual, monthly, and daily sales forecasts for the business


Let's Talk About You:


  • Executive level communication and presentation ability
  • Advanced Excel skills, including the use of complex formulas and pivot tables to simplify data, and ability to build excel templates and models
  • Strong planning, organization, self-motivation, problem solving and analytic skills
  • Experience partnering with senior leadership to share business insights and support them in understanding the business
  • Professionally designated as a CPA, or another equivalent financial designation
  • Prior experience in FP&A for an apparel-based or CPG retail company
  • Minimum 4 years in a financial planning & analysis role
