The Senior Analyst, Finance & Operations (SFA) will be part of the Brookfield Private Funds Group, focusing on Finance and Operations for the Private Funds Business. The SFA will support and improve the operations of the Private Funds Business across all related business groups within BAM and its affiliates, including but not limited to private equity, infrastructure/renewable power, and real estate. The SFA will also be working on initiatives related to technology implementation as part of Brookfield’s strategy to centralize meaningful data. While reporting to the Vice President, Finance & Operations, the SFA will be multi-faceted and gain exposure by working with leadership and various teams across the broader organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor industry and regulatory hot topics, trends, and best practices, and develop, implement or update Brookfield policies and/or protocols as needed
- Develop subject matter expertise and coordinate /facilitate with the management of key financial and operational areas including investor reporting, valuations, performance measurement, fund administration
- Assess current state and propose strategic initiatives to achieve enhanced investor experiences, drive operational change, and streamline processes to improve internal efficiency
- Develop and oversee internal management reporting
- Review and manage the end-to-end process of various submissions from the business groups (e.g., asset under management, asset management reporting)
- Design, test, and implement dashboards / senior management reports for a cloud-based data system (Mercatus)
- Ad-hoc analyses and presentations on financial and operational results, supporting the team with any special projects
- Liaise and provide strategic guidance on Private Fund Finance and Operations across all the business groups
- Work with branding and communications and IR teams to assess participation in industry surveys and rankings, and responses to publication requests and DDQs, and how best to position Brookfield within these responses
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Ability to handle a large volume of work with tight deadlines
- University degree in Business or Finance
- Minimum of 3 years of financial services‐related experience, asset management experience is preferred
- Strategic thinker that can think outside the box, focused on efficiency and improving existing processes
- Exposure to private funds and knowledge of the investment management industry
- Strong communication skills, can work effectively with all levels and departments within a complex organization
- Strong interpersonal skills, a team player with positive attitude and pro-active approach to work
- Tech-savvy with reporting/analysis systems (SQL, Tableau, Hyperion, or similar)
- Recognized professional accounting designation (CPA)
- Strong Excel skills, can perform pivot tables, v-lookups with large amounts of data
