PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Senior Finance Manager role will report to the Group Controller and will be an integral member of the Soul Restaurants Canada Finance senior management team. This role is responsible for leading the accounting and finance operations teams in Canada, and managing all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, including hands-on oversight of the day-to-day finance operations of the Canadian businesses and legal entities of the Soul Foods Group.
SCOPE AND MAGNITUDE
Soul Restaurants Canada, part of the Soul Foods Group, comprises of over 230 Restaurants and Stores including KFC, Taco Bell, Starbucks, and Burger King brands. Employing over 4,000 employees, the business continues to grow through acquisition and development. POSITION FUNCTIONS
Controllership, Accounting Oversight and Tax Management (50%)
-Provides leadership in the management and maintenance of accounting records. Manage the month-end process from reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations through preparing financial statements. Timely reporting of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to internal and external stakeholders
-Hands-on oversight in all areas of accounting and finance operations including accounts payable, banking activities, accounts receivables, inventory, and compliances.
-Proactively identifies efficiency opportunities in internal and cross-functional controls, monitoring procedures, reconciliations, reasonability checks and recommends effective streamline, automated solutions.
-Stewardship of balance sheets, cash flow and working capital management
-Manage the timely and accurate preparation and review of statutory, corporate tax, and sales tax filings.
-Responsible for Fixed Assets management
Audit, Governance and Compliances (15%)
-Provides leadership in managing the annual financial and tax audits with external auditors.
-Maintain, update, and enforce Standard Procedures. Ensure ethical accounting practices and standards are utilized. Ensure the effectiveness and integrity of the company’s systems of internal control.
-Administration of annual Insurance policies with external parties
-Stay apprised of all the local, provincial, and federal tax laws and business regulations that affect the company and ensure that the company operates within the proper parameters.
Finance Business Partnership and Decision support (15%)
-Participates in key decisions to support driving the business forward.
-Strives for continuous improvements in processes for value-added business support.
-Work in collaboration with peer Finance departments and Operations on financial forecasting, planning and analytics in enhancing financial decision making.
-Support key presentations of financial and business results
People Coaching and Development (20%)
·Motivating and cultivating a high performing team. As a people leader, develop and coach team members in all areas of people management.
·Be an active participant in developing finance people strategy to build strong talent pipeline, through coaching and supporting growth and development.
·Develop breadth and depth of team; provide mentoring and coaching to team members to ensure they are developed and challenged in their roles to maximize their potentials.
POSITION IMPACT:
The Senior Finance Manager plays an integral role who will lead and manage the accounting and finance operations teams in Canada and will provide ongoing support to the company in all aspects of accounting, financial reporting including hands-on management of the day-to-day finance operations of the Canadian businesses and legal entities of the Soul Foods Group.

.Specialised or Technical Knowledge/Skills
Education and Qualifications
·Post-Secondary Education in Finance, Accounting or Business. MBA an asset
·Accounting designation CPA, CMA preferred.
·QSR experience an asset.
·+7 years of finance experiences in controllership capacity
·Ideally with driver license and vehicle
