What will you work on?

As a Senior Manager, Accounting, you will report to the Director, Accounting and lead the financial close process for the Corporate Accounting team. You will also partner with our Digital Games Creative Center providing monthly reporting and key insights. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing business, lead change, improve processes and be an integral member of a team seeking continuous improvement and best in class accounting and reporting.

How will you create impact?

Accounting (North America Toys business unit, Digital Games segment and Corporate)

• Develop, implement, and maintain standardized operating procedures for the global accounting department and design workflows and processes to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and consistency in financial transactions and reporting
• Support Internal and External audit requirements to facilitate quarterly reviews and annual audits ensuring compliance while regularly reviewing and update procedures to align with evolving accounting standards, industry trends and best practices
• Facilitate and lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process for North America Toys business unit, Digital Games segment, and Corporate of which includes timely review and approval of general journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting, review and approve intercompany transactions, and lead the process to maintain, monitor and reconcile monthly general ledger reconciliations
• Optimize internal controls and procedures to ensure compliance, streamline processes, safeguard company assets, mitigate financial risks and drive continuous improvement in our accounting function
• Manage monthly financial reporting and complex financial variance analysis along with managing accounting and support forecasting and budgeting initiatives for capital assets for North America Toys business unit, Digital Games segment, and Global consolidated reporting
• Liaise with the technical accounting team on appropriate accounting treatment for complex transactions ensuring that adherence to IFRS is met in all circumstances and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Operations, and Executive Leadership, to provide financial insights and support decision-making

Digital Games Accounting

• Prepare monthly financial statements for all legal entities within the Digital Games Segment to be provided as part of the consolidated Spin Master monthly reporting
• Support the Company’s M&A process as it relates to the Digital Games Segment including due diligence, disclosure, post-acquisition integration, subsequent earn out calculations
• Full ownership over legal entity reporting and statutory audits for entities within the Digital Games Segment and business partner with Digital Games Segment Finance Lead
• Support in the preparation of the monthly Digital Games Segment financial results presentations to the Senior Leadership team while assessing Digital Games Segment assets for indicators of impairment (quarterly) and complete annual assessment for impairment

What are your skills and experience?

• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise (IFRS preferred)
• Experience with SAP/BPC
• CPA or CPA, CA designation
• Strong computer literacy skills with Microsoft Office and advanced level Excel skill (pivots, vlookups, xlookups, and advanced formulas)
• 5-7 years’ experience either from a public accounting firm or public company
• Experience in the Digital Games industry an asset
