Role Description
The role for the Sr. Manager, Biosimilars Sales Training, is to lead the development and facilitation training with the purpose of developing the biosimilars sales teams and national account managers (NAM’s) responsible for presenting Biocon Biologics portfolio to the customer base across North America. This position will be responsible for the strategic development, management and delivery of field training activities that are aligned to overall sales, marketing, compliance and business strategies in the Oncology and Immunology space. In order to be successful, this highly visible position will leverage e-learning tools and adult learning techniques to ensure that training initiatives are structured to address product sales and marketing initiatives. This role manages and delivers all training initiatives for the Biocon Biologics Team and will focus on the Immunology and Insulins therapeutic areas. The leader must collaborate with Biocon Biologics team, Biocon Biologics National Account Managers and Institutional partners to ensure consistency and breadth of Biocon’s goal to provide access to high quality medicines to the world’s population.
Key Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of the Senior Manager, Biosimilars Sales Training:
- Collaborate closely as an integral member of the sales leadership, compliance, legal, marketing and operations teams, applying instructional system design methodology to ensure business plan goals are integrated into all learning activities.
- Present learning and development strategies to senior business leads as well as lead periodic needs analysis with clear understanding of cost structure, creation and execution process and estimated delivery timing.
- Provide strategic oversight and project management acumen in the development and implementation of product and sales skills curriculum development and management.
- Lead and Facilitate New hire Training Sessions (~6 per year), Advanced selling sessions and POA / Launch meeting workshops creation for biosimilars sales teams in partnership with business and marketing stakeholders.
- Support product launches by close partnership with the therapeutic, brand and Biosimilar marketing teams, developing materials and training while consulting with marketing and sales with regard to how to train the sales organization.
- Independently design/develop new training programs and concepts while managing internal and external support.
- Serve as a leader in maintaining and applying current understanding of the Biocon Biologics Team, and Institutional business with regulatory and compliance environment.
- Deliver training via remote technology (ZOOM, TEAMS, etc.) as well as live classroom modalities for a capable hybrid-learning experience.
- Participate actively in assessing learning needs, via formal needs analyses, of the sales organization and in developing training strategies and plans for established and new products.
- Utilize knowledge of blended learning modalities to develop continuous learning initiatives (product or selling skill specific) to support the on-going development of Biosimilar and branded generic sales force.
- Manage vendor/partner relationships in the development of product and skill curriculum, including budget oversight. Must be able to work independently with agency partners.
- Plan, design, facilitate, instruct and evaluate training classes on Biosimilar and branded products, therapeutic categories and selling skills and update the courses regularly to meet the needs of the sales organization. Evaluate therapeutic area strategy and develop initial and continuous learning curriculum aligned with individual product training.
- Offer NA Sales Enhancement training support across business units when needed and become familiar with other Biocon Biologics sales teams portfolio.
- Provide classroom, in-field and distance learning curriculum to sales representatives, managers and strategic partners.
Perform other duties as directed by the Director, NA Sales Training.
Background and Experience Required
- Familiar with professional selling skills programs.
- Knowledge of blended learning methods, including LMS, digital engagement platforms and distance learning.
- A minimum of 8 years of Pharmaceutical/Medical sales experience required.
- A Bachelors degree (or equivalent)
- Immunology, Biologics, Branded injectable, Specialty pharmacy, Buy-and Bill knowledge.
- Field Sales experience strongly required.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Understanding of the Buy-and-bill space as well as specialty pharmacy product sales experience strongly preferred.
- Field Sales Training in generic or brand pharmaceutical selling experience highly preferred
- Teaching or L&D experience strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Account Management & Contracting principles is a plus.
- Corporate training preferred.
- Biosimilar and/or Oncology sales experience preferred.
