Reporting to the Managers of the Regional Chronic Kidney Disease Program this person will be responsible for the coordination of schedules and facilitation of coverage for renal program. They will work with the Patient Care Managers/designate to collaboratively ensure coverage across the hospital (all sites) to optimize the quality of patient care offered.

Duties include:

• Communicate with the Managers and supervisors regarding overall staffing situations
• Respond to either Patient Care Managers or designate to ascertain scheduling needs
• Must be able to work in a professional, cooperative and effective manner with all fellow staff and clients
• Coordinate vacation requests for the renal program which will include nursing staff, clerical staff and renal assistants as well as any other staff as needed
• Develop ongoing schedules for the renal program, including the on call schedule
• Implement and maintain a database of staff availability and contact information
• Enter staff payroll, double check data entries, and complete payroll adjustments as required
• Must be willing to work/travel between all hospital sites
• Maintain effective communication with all areas of the renal program regarding status of staffing requests
• Prioritize needs of departments and redeployment of nursing staff, CCAs, and Renal Assistants using standard hospital protocols
• Facilitate appropriate coverage for the renal program during peak times and staff shortages due to vacancies or sick calls

Qualifications:

• Superior organizational and time management skills
• Previous experience in developing, modifying, and maintaining schedules in acute care setting preferred
• Previous experience in payroll entry an asset
• Excellent customer service skills and commitment to Trillium Health Partners values
• Satisfactory performance and attendance required
• Strong critical thinking skills to find creative solutions to scheduling challenges
• Demonstrated ability to work independently under stressful conditions
• Strong proficiency with MS office applications, including Excel preferred
• Strong critical thinking skills to appropriately manage and prioritize scheduling demands
• Proficiency with Meditech and scheduling module is preferred
• Post-secondary Medical Administration Diploma preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
