Job Title: Director, Marketing
Reports to: Head of Marketing
Job Location: Oakville
Basic Function
The Director of Marketing will be responsible for development and execution of commercial initiatives related to SteriMax’s pipeline and commercial assets. The individual will work closely with cross functional teams throughout the Product lifecycle to ensure a successful launch and market adoption. Furthermore, they will be tasked with growing SteriMax’s Marketing capabilities to ensure sufficient resourcing and expertise in support of the company’s strategic growth plan.
This position will report to the Head of Marketing and will require Domestic Travel.
Detailed Responsibilities
Product Launches
Pre – launch activities:
- Competitor product assessments for all assets in the pipeline, including packaging/labelling evaluation
- Working directly with Business Development to provide feedback on new product opportunities and insights into potential innovations based on market feedback
- Optimization of SteriMax packaging and labelling design in collaboration with Regulatory and Operations
- Work in collaboration with Market Access to develop a reimbursement strategy to optimize profitability of new products
- Creation of a Pre-Launch customer engagement strategy, including sample strategy, sales team aids, Salesforce campaigns, call lists, etc
- Outreach and Evaluation of market feedback regarding new product attributes such as label/cap colour, contents, storage conditions, required in-use studies, etc, to ensure optimal tender scoring and quick adoption from HCPs
Launch Activities
- Creation of tiered customer target lists and tailored messaging to aid in the execution of call plans
- Oversee the SteriMax tendering process, including the collection of competitive intelligence to inform bid strategy in both the retail and hospital pace
- Development of pricing strategies for individual market segments, including rebates, discounts, bundling, listing agreements, etc
- Creation of detailed aids, including sell sheets, medical detail aids, hand outs
- Creation of a launch strategy to maximize market share and profitability
- Sales team support:
- Oversee the internal education program for the sales team for all new products
- Development of channel strategies for GPOs, Hospitals, Retail channels, Home IV accounts and alternate channels using IQVIA and in-house datasets
Post launch activities:
- Refinement of target lists
- Working with the sales team to identify and execute new channel strategies
- Support Market Access to ensure optimal provincial reimbursement coverage
- Identify and implement product life cycle strategies to increase market share and profitability
- Tracking of channel sales against forecast and working closely w/ the sales team to adjust in-market strategy according to market response
Competitive Intelligence:
· Manage market monitoring (NOCs, GSUR, SUR, international approvals, backorders, tender RFPs) and communicate internally, emphasizing strategic opportunities and potential threats to the organization
Traditional marketing:
- Management of the SteriMax website and overseeing the creation of micro sites for branded assets
- Optimizing online visibility through the use of social media channels and targeted website advertisements
- Oversee creation of marketing media such as sell sheets, company brochures, promotional give-aways, trade show media
- Working with Sales to select and maximize SteriMax’s domestic conference presence
Other
- Participation in the creation of annual product sales budgets

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- · University Degree
- · Experience within the Hospital Pharmacy setting considered an asset
- · Project Management experience
- · Knowledge of Canadian market dynamics and partnership mechanisms
- · Experience launching innovative drug formats or branded drugs in Canada is considered an asset
- · Minimum 5 years experience within the pharmaceutical marketing space
- · MBA or Pharmacy degree preferred
- · Working Knowledge of PAAB
