Brief Description
The Associate Director Marketing (ADM), Neuroscience (Epilepsy) will be responsible for the development and implementation of brand, market access and government affairs strategies and plans for Neuroscience (Epidiolex). The ADM will lead the therapeutic area cross-functional team in the identification of short- and long-term opportunities that will maximize the epilepsy franchise Canada. They will also help to establish partnerships with important market access, government, and patient stakeholders in the Canadian epilepsy market through an understanding of needs and shared interests. The ADM requires the application of operational leadership to achieve results. This position calls for a strategic mindset and a strong ability to analyze, problem-solve and make decisions.
Essential Functions
  • Develop, manage and operate within budget to ensure optimal investment of promotional resources.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the disease state, competitive landscape, and therapeutic management in each of our potential markets.
  • Respect and adhere to all applicable ethical/legal/regulatory guidelines in the organization and industry.
  • Formulate detailed 1-year, mid- and long-term marketing plans, including positioning strategies, sales forecasts, communication plans (publications, congresses), opinion leader development, sales targets, etc.
  • Monitor the implementation of the marketing plans to ensue execution is both efficient and effective and provide corrective solutions where necessary to maintain or exceed plan targets. Oversee agency partners and other vendors to ensure strategic alignment and executional excellence.
  • Lead the planning and implementation of advisory board and consultancy meetings to gain expert advice on critical business questions across the Neuroscience portfolio.
  • Establish strong relationships with, and draw input from, key internal functions: Sales, Medical, Market Access, and Regulatory. Serve as Quarterback of the therapeutic area cross-functional team.
  • Lead the commercial launch of new pharmacotherapy treatments in the Canadian epilepsy market.
  • Identify, assess, and effectively champion lifecycle opportunities to the Business Unit Head, Neuroscience and within the organization.
  • Develop strategies to enhance relationships and partnerships with key external stakeholders: Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Epileptologists, Neurologists, Pediatricians, Nurses, Pharmacists and others in the epilepsy management circle of care.
  • Support the execution of the market access and government relations strategies for the Neuroscience portfolio to ensure optimal commercialization across all provinces and market segments.
Required
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to drive projects forward, work on own initiative and with a cross-functional team.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and planning skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly motivated, results oriented orientation with demonstrated leadership communication skills.
  • 3+ years of commercial experience in pharmaceutical and rare disease.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Pharmaceutical experience in a hospital/specialty environment.
Preferred
  • English-French bilingualism
  • Experience within the epilepsy or rare disease therapeutic areas are preferred.
  • Experience in multi-channel marketing with focus on digital channels is preferred.

Required/Preferred Education and Licenses
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent degree required.
Preferred
  • Life Sciences or related discipline is preferred.
