Job Description
This is a remote position.


On behalf of our client, an established Public Sector organization, Equality Street is seeking an innovative and results-driven Director, Marketing Operations to lead their Salesforce Cloud practice and drive strategic success for customers.


Following a recent onboarding of a Salesforce Marketing and Sales Clouds, this role will play a key part in driving business value from the investment in Marketing Cloud.


A deep working knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) is needed, along with the ability to understand marketing requirements and play a leading role in translating those requirements into operational briefs into the SFMC build team.


As SFMC is new to the business, part of this role will also be to drive familiarity, understanding, leadership and application of good practice within stakeholder groups, and aiding our transition to a customer experience focused mindset.


As the Marketing Operations Lead, you will also play a pivotal role in optimizing our marketing processes, enhancing campaign effectiveness, and maximizing ROI through your deep knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud.


This role combines acting as a thought leader with deep Marketing and Sales Operations expertise, providing executive-level strategic advice, and leading Salesforce ecosystem projects for some of the most exciting companies in the world. This role is responsible for both attracting new clients and growth through program and campaign performance, with a focus on Marketing Cloud success.


The successful candidate will be responsible for enabling the organization and its teams in the adoption of SFMC, delivering optimized programs leveraging the Salesforce platform, engaging audiences, and driving business outcomes. You will play a pivotal role in leading cross-functional teams in learning and engagement, maximizing the opportunity in the technology, and overseeing integrated marketing campaigns. Your passion for staying ahead of marketing trends and leveraging technology solutions will be critical to thrive in this role.


Responsibilities:


  • Technical Consultancy
  • Drive the maturity roadmap of SFMC adoption in the business, beginning with email (Email Studio, Content Studio, Journey Builder) identifying use cases for piloting of additional studios and channels aligned to business and marketing goals
  • SFMC Champion
  • Be an ambassador for the role that SFMC can play in delivering marketing effectiveness
  • Oversee output of the development team and act as quality control to deliver against stakeholder requirements
  • Take the lead in understanding the product roadmap of SFMC feature rollout and creating opportunities to apply these against business challenges
  • Work with the SFMC Product Owner to map platform usage and model return on investment of SFMC licenses / business units
  • Act as the translator of marketing requirements into technical specifications, including:
  • Play a proactive role in establishing centre(s) of excellence within the business to aid understanding of the tool and its applications to business and marketing challenges


i. data configuration, automation requirements, SQL development


ii. dynamic content including HTML, CSS, and AMPscript


iii. campaign optimisation: Einstein, Machine Learning, AI


iv. Multichannel integration requirements – e.g. CRM and web ID unification, Platform integration, data requirements


  • Collaborate with stakeholders and partners to maximize their Salesforce technology investment, including segmentation strategies, journey activation, email optimization, personalization campaigns, and AI-driven content recommendations.
  • Thought leader, providing executive-level strategic advice to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and incorporate innovative strategies into our marketing plans.
  • Lead and manage Salesforce ecosystem projects
  • Work with Product / Segment owners to devise annualised testing and optimisation plans, creating a backlog of opportunities to operationalise
  • Salesforce Ecosystem Projects Delivery Team Oversight:
  • Offer insights and recommendations based on deep expertise in Marketing and Sales Operations.
  • Work with Experience Transformation Program teams to establish and socialise best practice guidelines for the business around key SFMC related topics of Dynamic content, templates, automation, personalisation , campaign effectiveness
  • Work with Program and Marketing Strategy teams to input and execute on journey design for the purposes of driving innovation based on an understanding of what is possible
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
  • Best Practice
  • Build case studies of both process and campaign execution to drive better business understanding of SFMC
  • Thought Leadership and Strategic Advice:
  • Serve as a mentor to team members, sharing your knowledge and domain expertise to foster growth within the Marketing Cloud practice.
  • Oversee a team of Salesforce ecosystem experts, ensuring successful project delivery and exceptional outcomes for our clients.
  • Ensure stakeholder satisfaction and success throughout the project lifecycle, from requirements gathering to design, development, testing, documentation, delivery and optimization of complex client projects.
  • Encourage professional development and support team members in enhancing their skills.

  • Utilize your expertise to drive growth within existing retainers, with a strong focus on Marketing Cloud success.
  • Lead campaign process and set up to enable scalability, optimization and trackability of performance, including documentation of reporting requirements

  • Must be able to create and execute campaign vision and lead digital marketing efforts and metrics.
  • Experience leading delivery teams and working with cross-functional teams to capture technical and non-technical requirements.
  • Passion for remaining at the forefront of marketing trends and leveraging technology solutions for innovative strategies.
  • Proven experience of at 8-10 years in digital development and marketing roles, including leadership positions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to provide technology platform audits and implementations.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and driving integrated marketing campaigns to achieve strategic objectives.
  • In-depth expertise in Salesforce Marketing Cloud with an understanding of certification structure and studio utilisation. Comparable experience on other automation platforms considered.
