Overview


The Performance & Marketing Director RMX ECAN will be responsible for implementing and maintaining effective dynamic pricing, key sales actions and marketing strategy and execution as well as performing detailed business and data analysis to support decision-making and improve the overall sales organization performance. This position will provide strong sales leadership to set key performance indicators, price, volume and financial target and strategies to meet budgeted EBITDA. In addition, their responsibility will be to implement commercial policies and best practices in line with product line operating models, and determine customer/geographic mix for the Ready Mix product line in the Market Area.


This role share product development and innovation responsibilities with the Technical Director. As such, market discovery, product feasibility and profitability assessment, market potential and driving pilot project are among the collaborative key actions.


Safety


Responsibilities


  • Leads proactively with Lafarge ECAN best practices and complies with Group requirements.
  • Engages with all levels of employees in this regard and ensures personnel are actively seeking out real time solutions to identified risks.


Leadership


  • Leads team in strategic planning, progress plans, business development activities and identifying competitive landscape & sales intelligence.
  • Conducts regular meetings with clear agendas and priorities. Communicates company initiatives and pursues best practices.
  • Ensures team has a clear vision and strategy so they all move in the same direction and execute on the progress plans to maximize results.
  • Development of staff and creation of a collaborative and effective work environment.
  • Works closely with management and staff to develop a professional approach to managing the business.
  • Identifies underperformance and establishes corrective action.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and development opportunities to stretch and challenge staff to deliver results & strengthen relationships within the team, functional units, and customers.
  • Tracks team progress/achievements through regular interaction, including but not limited to joint customer visits, meetings, one on one, etc.


Sales & Customer Focus


  • Oversees the bidding process on large-scale projects in accordance with the PMM and Sales Policy.
  • Respects and implements the ECAN Price Margin Management (PMM) process including respecting authority levels.
  • Achieve annual Volume, VAP %, ASP, CM1 and EBITDA target.
  • Ensure records and signs off all contracts above the local set thresholds use Salesforce.Com to ensure compliance with the PMM and quoting processes and sales personnel use the system align with the current sales policies.
  • Ensures accurate sales records including orders won and lost, backlogs and forecasts.
  • Is an active member of the larger ECAN Senior GM team, contributes proactively towards the greater goals of the business, and promotes collaboration among peers to maximize the total value to ECAN.
  • Oversees the implementation of effective Sales processes and tools to create structure, proactive planning and accountability in the sales process.
  • Holcim Group liaison on Sales Performance, Sustainability, Audits, etc.


Marketing Responsibilities


  • Increasing brand awareness and market share.
  • Analyzing market trends and preparing forecasts.
  • Establish marketing plan for the RMX Eastern Canada group
  • Overseeing branding, advertising, and promotional campaigns.
  • Managing the marketing department's staff.
  • Promoting our brand at trade shows and major industry-related events.
  • Evaluating and optimizing marketing and pricing strategies.
  • Coordinating marketing strategies with the sales, financial, public relations, and communication departments.
  • Generating new business leads.
  • Leader for ECAN on Global Country Marketing Committee (Lead by CMO Holcim Group)
  • Developing and managing the marketing department's budget.
  • Keeping informed of marketing strategies and trends.


Strategy & Planning


  • Provide in a timely manner information to functional teams and VPs regarding market share, backlog, competitor intelligence and market trends to create overall budget.
  • Improves margins through the right combination of product, services and strategic placement.
  • Effectively utilizes KPIs, Performance Efficiency Reviews, financial statements and operational reports to track performance, establish effective action plans and continuously improve the operations.
  • Maintains a collaborative relationship with other Product Lines ensuring a synergy, which achieves a strategic and competitive edge using the RMX operating models.


Finance


  • Work with Finance for ECAN reports for monthly and yearly review by CEO and Holcim Group Performance
  • Responsible of the transfer pricing review and negotiation with Cement and Aggregate Product Line
  • Analytic ability to challenge market, managers and develop key performance actions to drive growth and performance with the team.

Relationships with Others Jobs:


  • This role will have a high level of interaction with the Sales Mgrs, Sales team, Market GM, Product Line VPs, Functional Heads and Holcim Group Heads (Performance, Development, Marketing and Digital). The incumbent will collaborate closely with Business Intelligence and Customer Excellence teams.
  • The Product Development Mgr and Assistant Marketing Mgr report directly to the role.


Qualifications


Education & Work Experience:


  • Strong Operation, Development, Quality and Sales background
  • P&L and key performance indicators responsibilities
  • Bilingual French and English
  • 20+ years progressive experience leading operation and sales teams with a strong performance management focus
  • Postgraduate degree in Business & Leadership
  • Knowledge of the industry of construction, design architecture and engineering personas.
