We are seeking an energetic and highly organizedpermanent Full-timeScheduling & Staffing Coordinatorfor our long-term care home! You will create and implement shift schedules for 24/7/365 coverage of Nurses and Personal Support Workers in ourNursing Department. Although we are a Jewish home, we welcome residents and staff from all backgrounds and with all lived experiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process fluctuating volumes of scheduled (vacation) and unscheduled (sick) leave requests, ensuringall shiftsare filled according to Collective Agreement Seniority provisions.
- Provide occasional Reception relief, maintain verification of credentials for Registered staff, recommend innovative scheduling practices to improve staffing efficiency, and participate in special projects and meetings.
- Create and maintain schedules and staff rotations for Nursing Department, including annual vacation calendars, time off requests, assigning shifts, and managing attendance and overtime. Direct and report to the after-hours Scheduling team on staffing shortages daily.
- Coordinate and schedule team members returning from leaves of absence, and support the modified return-to-work process.
- Post vacant Bargaining Unit positions internally, award per Seniority Rules, and arrange for orientation and shift rotations of newly hired staff.
- Maintain accurate scheduling and timesheet records on Ceridian Dayforce modules to ensure timely payroll, and verify and manage vacation, sick, and statutory holiday leaves.
- Perform other duties as required to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents in the Home.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Relevant experience scheduling hourly staff in a medical and/or healthcare setting.
- Demonstrates maturity, judgment, and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Communicates clearly and effectively in verbal and written English.
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Proactively identifies and resolves problems with creative solutions.
- Exhibits strong interpersonal skills, a professional and positive attitude, and provides excellent customer service with tact and diplomacy.
- Proficient computer literacy with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Manages, organizes, and prioritizes time and resources effectively to meet deadlines, and maintains composure under pressure.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience with Ceridian Dayforce, or other Scheduling, Timekeeping or HRIS software is strongly preferred.
- Recruitment or Human Resources administrative experience is an asset.
- Prior work experience in scheduling support in healthcare, long-term care, or unionized environments is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of the practices and traditions of the Jewish religion is an asset.
