Join us at LocalOn, our small tech start-up team, as a Marketing and Sales Coordinator for thewhere.a.boutsmobile app, an innovative platform designed to connect small businesses with local shoppers. We're seeking a passionate and determined individual who is dedicated to helping small businesses thrive and succeed. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in expanding our user base by helping us create a passionate and dedicated community behind the brand and the purpose of supporting small local businesses. Be part of the force empowering small businesses, engaging communities, and shaping the future of [small business] retail. This is a 3-month contract position with the potential for extension based on performance.
*About where.a.bouts App:
where.a.bouts is a revolutionary mobile app that serves as a driver of foot traffic to small businesses with brick and mortar outlets, pop-up stores, and market stalls. Our app empowers local entrepreneurs and small business owners by allowing them to create digital stores to showcase their products and services, making it easy for local customers to find and purchase from them in-store. Our mission is to foster a sense of community and support among small business owners and shoppers alike.
*Responsibilities:
- Negotiate and secure advertising/collaboration opportunities with identified organizations
- Attend select events within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) to represent where.a.bouts
- Organize and coordinate engaging community-building activities, both online and offline.
- Cultivate and nurture a vibrant community of small business shoppers using where.a.bouts app.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date lead and contact records in CRM.
- Work with CMO to build and manage Facebook & Instagram communities to drive engagement and user interaction.
- Assist in the development of marketing materials and campaigns
- Identify and engage with prospective collaborators, and small business owners to promote where.a.bouts app.
- Create and curate thought leadership content through blogging and other channels
- Assist in the organization and coordination of events
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to identify new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and implement effective marketing and sales campaigns.
*Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proven experience in marketing and sales, especially in building communities around a brand
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Willingness to travel within the GTA for select event attendance (travel expenses will be reimbursed).
- Familiarity with CRM systems, (preferably HubSpot CRM). Knowledge of HubSpot Marketing Hub is a plus.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
- Experience in building and managing Facebook & Instagram communities and thought leadership through content creation, including blogging.

Salary: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
