Job Description

Position:Marketing Coordinator


Department: Marketing & Communications


Reporting Relationship:Reporting to the Director, Business Development & Strategic Initiatives under the direction of the CEO


The Marketing Coordinator will support the Chamber’s marketing initiatives through planning, executing, and tracking the marketing efforts. They will be responsible for communicating through various mediums following the Chamber’s communication guidelines.


Overall Accountabilities:

Main area of responsibility

  • Complete any content updates for the Chamber’s WordPress website including ads, blog posts, etc.
  • Responsible for coordination of the creation, implementation, and measurement of marketing across all channels for programs and initiatives.
  • Chamber’s overall growth within the community.
  • Submit monthly content calendar in coordination with Marketing Department.
  • Provide monthly social media and marketing tracking reports (analytics)
  • Responsible for the Chamber’s online presence through social media & communication channels


Events Support:

  • Web updates (uploading video content, digital programs, etc.)
  • Create event content to promote Chamber events & programs on social media.
  • Analytic Reports from advertising campaigns
  • Media Coverage
  • External advertising


Business Development Support

  • Work with Business Development Team to create lead opportunities.
  • Support sales and leadership team with other projects as needed.
  • Maintain the “New Member Welcome” campaign.
  • Coordinate changes for ads sold by the business development team.
  • Engage with the community and future members online.
  • Coordinate blog posts & member profiles with members and promote.
  • Promote Member Rewards programs.
  • Review data from Event wrap-up reports to generate leads.
  • Acknowledge new members and anniversaries online.
  • Work with the Sales and Sponsorship team to create/update sponsorship and sales packages.
  • Engage with members online.
  • Engage with members online and share their stories.
  • Coordinate membership and events flyers


Advocacy Support

  • Engage with other business leaders and community champions online.
  • Tracking mentions of the Chamber and staff in media publications
  • Coordinate weekly blogs with VP of Advocacy and promote them online.
  • Work alongside VP of Advocacy to share our story and the work we do.


Partnerships & Special Projects Support

  • Website Maintenance and updates (events, logos, etc.)
  • Post Advocate Publication to the website and promote it (5x/ year)
  • Provide sponsors & partners with a marketing plan to help promote events & programs.
  • Post and promote Annual Business Directory to the website and promote (1x/ year)
  • Acknowledging/ thanking sponsors & partners on social media before, during and after events


Professional Accountabilities

  • Act in accordance with Chamber policies and applicable legislation
  • Invest in professional development activities as available from the Chamber.
  • Actively participate as a team member

Other areas of responsibility

  • Assist with media pitching (when needed).
  • Member Retention program tasks and phone calls to members on a monthly basis.
  • Monitor media mentions for the Chamber via Google News and track mentions on the “Media Tracking List”
  • Working with and supporting the Chamber staff team with member services initiatives and administrative duties:
