Our client, Medallion Energy Services Inc. is a dynamic company looking to fill the position of an E & I Project Estimator. This will be a full time position.
As an E&I Project estimator, you will review, prepare and present specific project proposal activities. In this position, you will assist in the bid process, including reviewing drawings and tender document to understand the scope of work and submission requirements, assemble accurate and well-organized estimates.
Detailed job responsibilities:
·Prepare quotes from supplied electrical drawings or single line drawings, building blueprints and general contractor specifications, equipment lists or general customer information.
·Compile bids in a professional package for customers
·Collaborate with the engineering and design team to develop electrical designs and plans. Communication is vital, including asking for clarifications.
·Work with purchasing to engage suppliers and obtain competitive project pricing. Review vendor quotes for scopes of work and lowest competitive bid
·Inform purchasing on which vendor to purchase from for each project.
·Assist in organizational jobs such as pulling electrical permits, communicating with field personnel, and project kick off documentation.
·Providing detailed material take-offs and labor hour breakdowns for cost analysis.
·Maintain files of working documents for back up to estimated costs.
·Maintain detailed log of all jobs estimated.
·Estimate change orders for ongoing projects.
·Interpret and apply the necessary standards associated with the Canadian electrical code.
·Understanding contractual terms and conditions.
·Complete IFB to IFC review of work packages.
·Participate in closing the bid, bid review meetings, and other job closing related tasks
Qualifications
·Experience in team management
·Proficient in Bluebeam
·Great interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
·Effective presentation skills
·Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook.
·Good customer relations skills
·Experience in reading engineered drawings in both electrical and instrumentation
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proven analytical abilities
·Experience in industrial, oil and gas
·Prioritize workload to meet deadlines
