Job Description

:


We are seeking a student currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree for a 20-week paid internship to join Ecommerce Website Developer team. As an Ecommerce Website Developer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining our online store and digital platforms. Your expertise will contribute to creating a seamless and engaging online shopping experience for our customers.


Responsibilities:


  1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design user-friendly e-commerce websites.
  2. Develop and maintain responsive, visually appealing, and functional e-commerce websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other relevant technologies.
  3. Customize and integrate e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, WooCommerce) to meet business needs.
  4. Implement secure payment gateways, order processing systems, and inventory management tools.
  5. Optimize website performance, speed, and SEO to enhance user experience and search engine rankings.
  6. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring website functionality and stability.
  7. Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in e-commerce and web development.
  8. Collaborate with designers to ensure a cohesive and visually appealing website design.
  9. Test and debug websites across different browsers and devices for consistent performance.
  10. Monitor and analyze website traffic, user behavior, and sales data to propose improvements.
  11. Assist in the development of marketing campaigns and promotions on the e-commerce platform.
  12. Provide technical support to users, addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to the website.


Qualifications:


  1. Students, with Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Resident status, should apply
  2. Enrolled in Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field
  3. Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive web design principles.
  4. Experience with e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, WooCommerce) and CMS systems.
  5. Strong knowledge of UI/UX principles and best practices.
  6. Familiarity with SEO, analytics tools, and website optimization techniques.
  7. Problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
  8. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  9. Detail-oriented approach to work and commitment to meeting deadlines.
  10. A portfolio of previous e-commerce website development projects is a plus.
