We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager to join our growing Design Management Services team in Calgary, AB. The ideal candidate will have experience in design, construction and project management initiatives with commercial and industrial clients, land development, mechanical systems, stormwater management, and utility design. This position has the unique ability to partner with and learn from some of the best engineers, project managers, and other technical staff in the industry.
- 8 or more years of proven experience in civil or mechanical engineering
- Up to 10% travel
- Active APEGA Professional Engineer License, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Oversee site visits, surveys, inspections, and assist with data collection, compilation, and assessment for infrastructure projects.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
- Must be flexible, well organized, accountable, and dependable.
- Physically able to perform work in the field.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and clients.
- Lead construction management tasks such as material submittal reviews, build reviews and coordination with Contractors.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Lead the production of project plans, specifications, scheduling, budgeting, technical memorandums, and cost estimates.
- Ability to execute engineering best practices on a wide variety of projects for a wide variety of clients, adapting to new environments quickly.
- Be involved in all project aspects including design/study development, construction management, project management, RFI's/RFPs/Submittals, and client meetings.
Preferred
- Specializations in industrial and commercial design and construction including fueling systems, industrial wastewater treatment, and
- Familiar with AREMA, Class I Railroad, and commuter railroad standards and specifications.
- Experience using computer assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering and design documents.
